Tennessee Drops Mic on California
Well it seems that California, while occupying their moral high ground of “bake the damn cake,” “that war hero statue offends us,” and transgender bathroom confusion, have decided to have their own travel ban on those of us who are less enlightened. California now refuses to fund state employee travel to Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, South Dakota, and Texas because they are not fully in compliance and total agreement with the SJWs in the California government when it comes to LGBTQIAPK issues.
In response to California’s nonsense here is the resolution passed by the great state of Tennessee’s Senate:
Makes me proud to be an American and a Tennessean most of all.
Hey California! We didn’t ask y’all what you thought but if we ever want your opinion we’ll let you know. Now go eat some yogurt and shut the hell up. Thanks.

Go Tennessee! Well done!
California probably has an exception for tax auditors they send to harass businesses that have left the state.
Indeed!
A good first step, but a further one is necessary. TN and other states should consider lawsuits against California for its product regulations and interference in interstate commerce. CA being such a large market, if it bans something in a product, that ban often becomes de-facto a nationwide ban.
I was just in Tennessee last week shooting a bunch of guns with my youngest son (about $400 worth of ammo).
He is now begging to move there. It’s high on the short list of retirement states.
@skipsul interstate commerce definitely.
Hahaha!
Tennessee just keeps making me more and more happy with some of its legislative decisions. :) Go Tennessee!
Texas borrowed Davy Crockett from Tennessee about 180 years ago. I think they should borrow this, too. We promise we won’t break it this time.

That is beautiful. I want to move there.
It’s great to be a Tennessee Volunteer, ain’t it @concretevol
As the great philosopher Lewis Grizzard once said:
Come on down. Marry our women, breath our air, eat our food……just don’t tell us how you used to do it back in Illinois. If you do that Jack, Delta is ready when you are! lol
Damn straight
I think it’s a pretty safe bet that @asquared would NOT want to import Illinois with him. Well, maybe Chicago-style pizza.
I would like to know if the phrase escalating foolishness has ever been used in legislation before.
Fabulous. Just fabulous.
That was one of my favorite parts too! Can’t say our legislature doesn’t have a wry sense of humor
So if UCLA is to play at Tennessee in football, do they go?
That is a safe bet. Even my 11-year old son is now calling it “Stupid Illinois”
This is how California lefties will secede. They’ll ban Californians from traveling to the other 49. Get out while you still can, Peter!
Funny. California may attempt to build a wall of its own. Or maybe it’s neighbors will.
I’ve often said, if I didn’t live in Austin, I’d live in Nashville. Good move, Tennessee!
What my STUPID state government doesn’t understand, is when we go bankrupt and go asking for a federal bailout, every state on the banned list plus plenty of other states will remember this and say NO THANK-YOU. Pray for us behind enemy lines!!!
The article Concretevol linked to indicates that only contracts that were entered into prior to January 1, 2017 are exempt from the ban. I’ll bet they’ll carve out an exemption for NCAA sports otherwise places like UC Berkeley will feel the pain and the ban is only supposed to hurt the bad people who inhabit states like Texas and Tennessee.
California’s great about bullying the other forty-nine states and imposing its way of thinking on them; I wonder if it’s going to do the same on a more international scale?
Are state employees and entities banned from traveling to other nations that don’t recognize same-sex marriages? Of course, that would mean the Leftists’ new darling of the tourism scene, Cuba, would be the first place to get the ax since their constitution limits marriage to opposite-sex couples only. (I wonder if the concentration camps into which Fidel put the “maricones” who were “agents of imperialism” into to “correct” them of their bourgeois decadence are on the official state tours they give to the Lefty celebrities and hipsters who visit Havana?) And California’s status as America’s gateway to Asia? So long to that: Japan, China, South Korea, the Philippines, all of Southeast Asia – no marriage. (In fact, even a nation as advanced as Japan can often be so downright hostile to gays as to make the average Alabama town seem like a veritable pride parade.) I suppose all those high-tech workers from South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan) in Silicon Valley will have to deported immediately since all the nations on the Indian Subcontinent punish homosexuality with up to lifetime imprisonment. And flights to LAX by Emirates, Etihad, Saudia, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines – immediately canceled. Any consulates from Central American countries will have to shutter immediately, and no relations with Eastern Europe would be possible. The entire continent of Africa with the exception of South Africa is off-limits, and if marriage – not “civil unions” – is an absolute must, then so is all of Australia. And Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Chile, and Ecuador.
So tell us, California: Why doesn’t Kazakhstan get the same rude treatment as Kansas? Why not send the same reproach to Managua as to Memphis? Why is Dallas singled out for scorn but not Delhi?
James,
Yep, California is on a collision course with reality. No need for SMOD or Cthulhu. California is its own nemesis. It’s the Bullet Bankruptcy Express.
Regards,
Jim
BWHAhahahahaHAH!
Please, no Candy….i mean Vandy stuff on my thread. Yuck
Escalating foolishness.
We need a meme. A good, I mean great meme.
