Dinesh D’Souza, an Evening Chilling with Double D

The man is a captivating speaker and a true American. He is also an energetic fighter for a brighter future, uncertain though it seems.

A bunch of my high-end patients are with the Nevada Policy Research Institute. I had the pleasure of glomming on to their awesomeness and had a front-row seat for Mr D’Souza. NPRI is a conservative think tank out of Vegas that has tirelessly fought in multiple arenas to advance conservatism as well as expose union and other Democrat abuses of our systems. We may be a blue state for now but that is not set in stone and it’s a genuine pleasure to be around people putting their time and money where their mouths are.

Dinesh talked for 40 minutes or so and the audience was entranced. He ran through some of his history as well as his legal issues, well documented in Hillary’s America. He admires the guts and possibilities of our President, selling the why quite well. His opinion has merit even for those who disagree. He feels, as I do, that the President is the only one who could have beaten the Hillary/Academia/Media/Hollywood complex. I know others feel differently.

By the way, I have a picture and told him I was going to hunt him at the Vegas FreedomFest to be on with Ricochet’s own David Sussman. It’s really simple, I will stalk him and tase him like I did my wife, then caveman his carcass to the Whiskey Politics tent. ‘Nuff said.

Mr D’Souza discussed the usual GOP umbrage with the little lies, Benghazi videos, and Obamacare greatness, to name a few. Little lies are what we fight but they are chump change compared to the big lies. The meta lies, mega lies, uber lies, the lies of all lies have been portraying the GOP as the racist party of fat cats and the Dems as the sweeties fighting for the little guy. The old lie was that the GOP were all racists but now we have jumped that cow over the moon to fascism, a cow a few people we know here were willing ride and milk on its lunar odyssey. You are forgiven for your impudence, my children.

There is no freedom of speech for fascists, for the ends justifies the means and it should be evident we are in a war/battle/fight. Pick a word if your brain is offended by war terminology. Our side has two choices: accept the Democrat narrative or fight back against those who will shout you down, destroy your lives, beat you, or yes, even shoot you on a day of baseball. At least I took these concepts to be his message.

Dinesh took questions and offered some solutions. Fight. Win with ideas. Bottom-up in media, entertainment, and academia, wherever possible. He mentioned tutoring Hispanic kids and discussing the ladder of the GOP ideas to win in America versus the rope of free stuff the Dems will pull you up with. Anybody who has read my pieces on mentoring Hispanic youth soccer would know my pulse quickened when he talked of reaching that community, a community teetering in the balance, whose decision to embrace hard-working family values and opportunity is pulled against by the enslaving bigotry of low expectations combined with Bernie Sanders’s free stuff.

If you have never heard him speak, you need to. He is an American treasure and we are lucky people like him come here to pursue their dreams. I hope to see him in Vegas and if he reads this, he knows he has little choice — 10 minutes with Ricochet’s Dave Sussman or tasey-tasey. Just kidding sir, it was an honor tonight.

I hosted D’Souza in 2010 at my college.  The conservative club that I led, decided to bring him to campus. We had dinner with him before his speech.  He spoke for about an hour.  He signed books for us (I have his Reagan biography signed by him with a nice note by D’Souza directed at me).  After his speech we shared drinks with him for about another two hours.  A great night.

It looks like you had a good night with him as well.

    From 2010:

That is pretty cool.  Extremely cool, even  I daresay, uber cool.   He’s a laid back man with a powerful mind.

I told him I took all my kids to his flicks, even the then 9 year old girl.

I read his book the End of Racism.  Very powerful, utterly fascinating.  You could write a series of posts on his thesis.

Good times, doc. I’m sure between the 3 of you (especially Melissa) y’all can get him to do the interview in Vegas. D’Souza has “gotten it” from day one.

I did some contract work for Mr. D’Souza last summer and at FreedomFest to promote Hillary’s America and he is every bit as wonderful as Jay portrays. Although his mind is absolutely amazing, and few stars are as personally generous or good humored as he, the prospect of a 7-foot Jay eagerly running him down like an antelope means I’d better get to him first.

Thanks, doc. D’Souza is a great man, fearless, truthful and remarkable. Only someone like him could be sent to prison so unfairly and make it a huge learning experience. His movies are great, and I envy your being able to see him in person!

Caveman carcass. Mel’s been sharing her M.O? Tho Don’t Taze Me Bro is so 2016. We now prefer Mossad-grade roofies.

Dinesh is a national treasure who doesn’t squander words. Big lies indeed.

    Whatcha drinking there Doc?

Only Doc would think to call him Double D. He is indeed a national treasure, and was a political prisoner in my opinion. But they couldn’t keep him down.

Yes.  And they can.  Have you read the book “Three Felonies a Day”?  We’re all committing ’em.  They just have to pick a person out for pers-and pros-ecution.   It’s just like the speed limit.  Nobody’s travelling under it, so the cops can stop anybody they choose.

    Oh, and: LOVE Dinesh!

Never heard him speak in person, but used to have a CD from Cato with a fantastic speech of his. The speech paralleled his What’s So Great About America book. Get ‘im, Jay. Ricochet programming from the bottom up!

He is fearless.  And since he is not from the “white Republican aristocracy” he presents a great threat to most of the wacky narratives the Democrats like to drag out like stinking half dead carcasses to once again “prove” their points.  DD is the exception that challenges the rule.  God bless him.

As an aside, Laura Ingraham, Peter, Dinesh… Dartmouth produced some heady right wingers in those days.  I’m sorry to admit that the College has managed to dampen those kinds of ambitions in the last few decades.  Too bad.  We need these people.
