In the Face of Terror, Londoners Told to “Run, Hide, Tell”

As the London terror attacks were announced late Saturday, the city’s Metropolitan Police Service issued a warning for Londoners to “run, hide, and tell.” (Hence, my Neville Chamberlain Photoshop above.)

The alert system was created after a series of attacks in Paris last year. The UK’s National Counter Terrorism Security Office published advice on what the public should do in a major terror incident. The intention is to get civilians out of the way of both terrorists and security forces, especially since the British public has been effectively disarmed due to aggressive gun and knife control laws.

Instructing Londoners to run, hide, and tell is a dramatic departure from the can-do, stiff-upper-lip, globe-striding empire of a century ago. Here’s how life during wartime looked to Britons not so long ago:

Today, the “young lions” are hard to find. The sheep, however, are plentiful.

    Here’s the instructions in Texas:

    1. Take cover.
    2. Be sure of your target.
    3. Two to the chest, one to the head.

    “Run, Hide, Tell” – its difficult to imagine how much centrifugal energy is going to waste in England’s graveyards. While it maybe good advice for a disarmed populace, I cant imagine a proper Victorian gentleman offering it or accepting it.

    Perhaps its time re-invigorate the “English Bill of Rights, 1689” –

    That the subjects which are Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law;

    Oh, and once again the persons who carried out a terror attack are connected to a radical Islamist Imam, colour us all shocked… England has hate speech laws – how is it, these Imams arent charged? How is when a member of their congregation (Do they have congregations?) goes off and kills people that Imam has preached hate on – that is not “Murder by Proxy”?

    Yes, and what makes me so angry is that once again, the authorities knew about these guys but did nothing to stop them. One of them was even in a documentary about radicalization. Isis flag and all. Shame on them.
