Thanks for this, EJ. Owing to my deformation profesionnelle as a speechwriter, my eye was drawn to the beautiful one-liner. But of course you’re right. This is important–existentially important.
Mattis should always be the designated survivor. If anything happens to everyone else, I want him to be the last man standing.
And thank God for President Trump, who put Gen. Mattis into the leadership position he holds. It is a source of hope this Memorial Day weekend.
