Today’s Cartoon by Michael P. Ramirez
Today’s cartoon, Cowards in Hell, by Michael P. Ramirez. As per Dave Sussman’s powerful essay, if we become inured to the death of innocents and calculate it out as the cost of living in a modern society, then our civilization is already dead.

I think his captioning it is unnecessary.
Perhaps, but his cartoons are featured in hundreds of publications, and many people find that emphasizing the obvious is sometimes appropriate.
Most artists title or name their pieces
I know but. . .
I actually agree with this. It might be better to pick up a line from the dialogue if a title is needed.
I would definitely run it by him sometime if you ever get the chance.
How about “The Loser” ?
Stunning as always.
And yet our media sources can barely mention the words ‘Islam’ or ‘Muslim’ with or without the word ‘extremist’ near by.
The cartoon can be viewed at two levels; At first, it looks like ISIS/Death is sitting on a throne made of the remains of innocent victims. The caption, “The Cowards” appears to be referring to the shrouded figure and the newly dead terrorist. But the title on the website is Cowards in Hell.
So whose bones could those be?
I’m thinking of the title of the first Billy Jack film: The Born Losers.
