Is It Possible to Just Calm Down?

I don’t see the MSM, but I see it reflected on the pages of Ricochet. Tensions are through the roof, and mostly because Trump has been doing what we basically expected him to be doing: saying all kinds of stuff, and ignoring the way “things are supposed to be done.”

Let’s all judge Trump by his deeds, not his words. The agenda is what matters, and while it (tax reform, health care, de-regulation, etc.) seems to be stalled at present, I remind all and sundry that the alternative was Hillary Clinton.

Today the alternative is not Mike Pence, because an MSM-led removal of Trump would cripple all proposed reforms of things that desperately need reform. The basic question today is whether or not the good and substantive parts of the agenda can gain adherents in Congress.

To that end, can we Ricochetti stop marching in lockstep either for or against the MSM media? The idiots who run them are best ignored. We should not let them frame the debate.

Actions, not words.

Maybe getting out from under the microscope will help congressional Republicans get some actual work done.

I presume you mean work like pork and constituent services rather than what’s in their job description, which happens only when they’re under the microscope.

Why are people working so darned hard to keep Mike Pence out of the Presidency?

How does this Trump character engender so much loyalty from good people? People for which he feels nothing in return?

You have no idea what kind of pandora’s box that would open. The GOP may not recover for a generation.

Edit:  Do you base your vote on who feels something for you? If so, I doubt your conservatism.

So they need someone publicly accusing them of killing sick people, or else they won’t work on health care?

Who should calm down?  The media wont as long as it works for them.  It works for them as long as Republicans listen and react.  I don’t know what President Trump is doing because I don’t  understand him, but I know most Republicans listen and react.   I think its because they are fools and cowards, but I’m not sure about that either.  The MSM is very clear about what they are.  They are in charge and they love it.  They have power because our folks are so easily stampeded, cowed, and cornered.

You mean killing them with a microscope? It’s not the usual weapon, but I suppose it would do in a pinch.

Its difficult to explain to some that perhaps, they have allowed their views to become massaged/ or persuaded by the  ‘Acela Corridor’ or ‘Beltway Bubble’.

I understand that appearances are important, but when  they have been promoted to the end all, be all, that’s out of balance. How to re-balance?

The conundrum is; if the Est. and Dem. Party/Media complex shapes everything- is that determinable?

Is there not a sizable chunk of the populace, that we don’t hear from or of,  that knows/understands what they are getting is pretty much 100% Newspeak- collected/collated and generated by a hive mind of Gate Keepers?

Why bother trying to convince people who allow themselves to be bamboozled by imagery instead of substance? Is there even a point in trying? …….Should we try?

My conservative bona fides in doubt? Ouch.

Pressing on, I don’t feel a thing for any of these public figures. I live under the delusion that trust and/or loyalty is something that is earned. The past of the President has shown me nothing to peg as to him being a person to either trust or predict his future conduct. Winning an election over Hillary Clinton earns him nothing from me. As to the Pandora’s Box to be unleashed by a Trump absence on the scene, someone should come up with a plan. This Presidency will come to an end at some point.

Now, I am going to go back and piece together the rest of my sure to be diminished life as a un-conservative schmuck.

I’m not sure if I’m one of the bamboozled (I’m seriously looking into that), but eventually everyone will have a chance to vote in local, state and national elections. I think trying to not only educate ourselves but the larger populace could have a significant impact on the results.

How true….though Movies et al like to pretend that people can be easily rallied like Sgt. Stryker in the Sands of Iwo Jima to courageous/selfless acts…..thats bushwah.

Most especially when it comes to politicians, they always seek the closest, most convenient cover…The Dem/Media complex knows this and they know too that GOP pols, for reasons I have yet to quantify, are more easily cowed than the proggys….

Who’s up for a Capitol Hill die in? Pick a manner of death. I choose Tourette’s Syndrome.

How many people do you think will change the way they would otherwise vote in local, state and national elections because Trump may have said something improper to Comey or the Russian Ambassador? Personally this will not affect how I vote for Mayor or State Senator in the least.

It likely won’t change how I vote in National Matters. This is the press and the politicians whipping themselves up over things that don’t affect average voters. IF we were able to educate the voters on what is happening, most would likely forget all about the whole issue before the election.

If you are looking through the lens of my most recent post, you are misunderstanding my point, Jager. I’m suggesting that we educate people in the best way we can to transcend or see through the biases that are being promoted. I’m not suggesting that they pay attention to the garbage out there that substitutes for news. I’m not sure how to do that yet, but I’m learning that all of us need to find a way to know the truth or admit that we simply don’t know. I don’t like saying I don’t know, but I’m learning the truth is more important than my ego.

I don’t think I ever felt anything for any presidential candidate I voted for, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t feel anything for me. I vote my ideology and self-interest. Feelings got nothing to do with it.
