Was the French Election Really a Good Thing?
There have been a lot of posts and comments about how wonderful it is that Macron won the French election last weekend. I do not agree that it is wonderful.
I have never posted an article linked from Gatestone Institute here. I figured that those of us who frequent Gatestone understand how valuable it is, so there is no need to mention it. This story, however, needs to be told, as the “opposing viewpoint” to the pro-Macron articles posted on Ricochet. Here it is:
France: Emmanuel Macron, Useful Idiot of Islamism
During the cold war with the Soviet Union, they were called “Useful Idiots”. These people were not members of the Communist Party, but they worked for, spoke in favor of and supported the ideas of Lenin and Stalin. In the 21st century, Communism is finally dead but Islamism has grown and is replacing it as a global threat.
Like Communism, Islamism — or Islamic totalitarianism — has been collecting its “Useful Infidels” the same way Communism collected its Useful Idiots. There is, however, an important difference: under the Soviet Union, Useful Idiots were intellectuals. Now, Useful Infidels are politicians, and one of them was elected president of France today.
Emmanuel Macron, Useful Infidel, is not a supporter of terrorism or Islamism. It is worse: he does not even see the threat. In the wake of the gruesome attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris, Macron said that French society must assume a “share of responsibility” in the “soil in which jihadism thrives.”
There is a lot to this story, so I’ll skip down a little:
Macron comes close to accusing the French of being racists and “Islamophobes”. “We have a share of responsibility,” he warned, “because this totalitarianism feeds on the mistrust that we have allowed to settle in society…. and if tomorrow we do not take care, it will divide them even more “.
Consequently, Macron said, French society “must change and be more open.” More open to what? To Islam, of course.
It is a long article. Please do yourself a favor and read it all.
Published in General
It’s wonderful for the majority of the French who don’t want anything to upset their nice dreamy nap…
I agree that Gatestone’s articles are both informative and well-informed, but one has to be aware of the organization’s agenda.
Its founder and President is Nina Rosenwald, Sears Roebuck heiress and lifelong ardent Zionist.
It does a good job in exposing politicians around the world who are soft on Islamic fundamentalist expansion, particularly in Europe, where perception of the threat is dangerously low. Which is why you appreciated their accurate assessment of the new French president.
But its real agenda is the protection of the state of Israel, which becomes pretty clear if you read between the lines of its mission statement:
“Gatestone Institute will be publishing books, and continues to publish an online daily report, http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org, that features topics such as military and diplomatic threats to the United States and our allies (read: in particular Israel), events in the Middle East (read: in particular those that represent a threat to the State of Israel) and their possible consequences, and the transparency and accountability of international organizations (read: in particular the UN, notoriously hostile to Israeli interests).
Its legitimacy is thankfully bolstered by the presence as Chairman of Ambassador John Bolton, a Lutheran.
I’m not sure of your point. They don’t hide their intentions behind a wall of secrecy or anything. They feel Israel, and really most Christian countries, too, are under attack and need to wake up. You can’t read more than two or three articles without completely understanding that.
Are you attacking them for that, or what? I’m not very clear on your comment.
Wasn’t Gatestone the organization that falsely reported the existence of Sharia Law governed “no-go Zones” in Europe?
What was false about it? There are numerous newspapers who report on the problem, and there are others who claim it is a myth. Take your choice, however, I have been following the news from dozens of sources, so deny away.

Nope: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/nogozones.asp
Snopes is worthless.
Evidence?
Snopes has been discredited and exposed as being owned by two liberals with an agenda. It has no credibility anymore, and has had to issue retractions. Anyone who doesn’t realize that Macron will cause the downfall of France through his childish view of Muslim immigration is not awake.
There is nothing in that article I posted that isn’t supported by links to evidence, including a retraction of Fox News stating that the Muslim No-Go Zones are a false story.

I found no evidence to support your claim about snopes.
This Post is for a discussion about whether or not the election of Macron is good for France, as some believe, or bad for France, as others believe. If you do not wish to join this discussion about whether or not the election of Macron is good for France, as some believe, or bad for France, as others believe, please go hijack some other thread. You will be ignored here.
Agreed. The comments made about Poland not taking their “fair share” have been telling, and it must be frightening to the leadership there. Imagine being forced to choose between more trade with your neighboring countries or putting your citizens at risk of being over-run with terrorists. I wish the USA could do something to help them.
Well stated JcT. I think that it is about 20 years too soon for LePen’s logic to take hold, and that Macron will rule infelicitously for a bit, then reality will force him and Merkel out.
Oh, and I almost forgot, yes the hijackers are unwelcome.
Snopes! Tee-hee! The uber-Onion.
We all might have a different attitude if we had to actually live in a Parisian suburb.
Sometimes I wonder how much people actually know about the crazy areas of their own countries when talking about politics. Watch some video of France and the riots there. If you still feel there isn’t a big problem, then I think we may just have to disagree.
On the issue of the election, I think that Macron may not be the worst as I hear he is possibly good for the economy which LePen is not so much. So, perhaps France will survive long enough to make even stronger changes when they do get around to it. That being said, I think Le Pen now would still have been better for the people of France.
Worthy. I am no fan of LePen but Macron is going to be part of the problem. Islam is the cudgel used to beat down nationalism by the one world order loonies.
I suspect after nationalism loses the devils bargain will bite the globalists in the ass when they discover the tendrils of the necromongers are upon their throats.
The arguments on this thread seem to mirror those in France. The majority of French voters, who live in French suburbs even, voted for Macron. Iow they found Le Pen unconvincing. Why might that be? The veracity of claims is relevant, not off topic.
Snopes. Because they are a neutral authority.
All it takes is playing semantic games with the term “No -Go Zones”
SWEDEN IN CHAOS: Number of ‘no-go zones’ INCREASED as police lose control over violence
“At the time around 50 areas were put on a “blacklist” which are then divided into three categories from “risk areas” to “seriously vulnerable”.”
I suggest you to put a yarmulka on and go for a stroll around the banlieues of France.
There are lots of useful Islamic idiots around Ricochet as well.
“Useful infidel”– I love it. That is so perfect.
That describes Bush’n Blair after 9/11, bleating about how Islam is the “religion of peace”!
That describes the phenomenon in our country, where, instead of cordonong off this threat, we all start reading the Koran (it sold out in bookstores right after 9/11) and we suffer a 74% increase in mosque-building since then, plus admitting increased numbers of Muslims.
That describes Americans’ incomprehensible tolerance for being called “Islamophobic”, as though the mass carnage wrought to the accompaniment of the now-infamous Muslim battle-cry in recent years were imaginary. (“Phobia” usually means an irrational fear..)
That describes anyone who does not want to vomit!–when they see that greenish poster of the woman in the American flag hijab–or any photo or representation of anyone desecrating our flag in that fashion.
That describes anyone who did not cry with rage when she heard the Australian PM say that in future it might be necessary to insist that ALL women, Muslim or not! don the hijab.
“Useful infidel”.
Not this dhimmi.
(* re #25: Austrian PM ,of course..)
I’m fairly certain the Australian PM didn’t say any such thing. But I’m sure your grasp of current events is…oh, something clever about geography. Because connected? As you were.
I’m SO thankful auto-correct provided you with an opportunity to discount my post! Tee hee! ?????we cool now?
It is is a must read because everyone needs to know what Islam teaches. The first 87 chapters were written in Mecca when Mohamed was trying to convert people to his new religion, in about 10 years he had about 150 followers. He was then forced out of Mecca so he went to Medina, where he abrogated the peaceful chapters, became a war lord and wrote the next 27 chapters of hate, and the killing of Jews and all people of the “Book” and gave all other “infidels” a choice of converting or death. Citizen Warrior has a web site that challenges you to read if for yourself, and offers a Koran published in chronological order. The way it is published now, by the Islam authorities is the longest chapter first down to the shortest chapter. Their goal is to convert the entire world to Islam, and when all are converted or destroyed then “the world will be at peace.” Of course there is still the tribal issues, one will eventually dominate the other, so there is that.

You might also want to watch a short 8 minute video made about 4 years ago. Three things about Islam you may not know.

Well, slightly shamefaced, but I couldn’t resist.
(I drew the line at spelling it dhummi. I should get some credit for self control. No?)
