Example #1,456 of why Trump won the election

So….saw on twitter this weekend where a liberal CEO of some company I’ve never heard of (marketing company apparently) decided to give the rest of us advice on how to be less offensive to people like her.

First of all, how can anyone so devoid of self-awareness be any good at marketing? Secondly, I think I can speak for most Americans that don’t live in a progressive coastal Meccas and say that making our “town a place that people like us want to live in” is pretty much the opposite of what we are trying to achieve. We would in fact prefer that “people like you” keep your opinions to yourself and the progressive, “diverse”, cesspools you live in away from our tax dollars. You may be surprised to know that we don’t like “people like you” or your condescension, and that economically we are doing pretty damn well partly due to the companies fleeing your state in droves. So, thanks but no thanks for the advice. That and 3 bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. (I’m sure you hate that as well)

It seems we are regressing as a tolerant culture by the very things this woman describes, and it is undoing years of progress.  Go into any diner, gas station, convenience store of any small town and you will be treated with more decency and respect than any large East or West Coast city. People will talk to you, look you in the eye, hold the door open if you are female with no thought of being frowned at.  It seems the scowling, rioting, weepy safe space coddling, gang-riddled, mouthy, celebrity worshiping part of the population can stay in their urban centers.

She seems kind of obsessed with making sure people get fiber.

Maybe she’s not getting enough of it and that’s why she’s so cranky.

It’s been interesting to follow this. The original poster has been unapologetic, even stating how she escaped the horrors of the Midwest at her grandfather’s urging (who surely was talking about all the horrors she imagines today, I’m sure). She’s proven so incapable of self-examination that it’s almost pathetic.

But perhaps this is where three-plus decades of Progressivism has gotten us. It’s spread throughout liberalism like a cancer. When the Left assumes themselves the angels and assumes any disagreement is at best ignorance and at worst a mortal sin of the worst order, Progressivism pats them on the back and says they’re doing great. When the Left refuses to even look at arguments against their viewpoints, Progressivism nods sagely and tells them they are right to do so.

They’ve built their own bubble. It’s getting dismantled rather rudely, and it’s making them hysterical.

I really hate the brown skinned people trope these folk are constantly screaming.  They act like the rural areas do not have any minorities.  Which is just silly.  All of us know, work with and even have minorities of all types in our families.  The big difference is that our minorities tend to live with and among us and are not typically sectioned off to an area of our communities that have become third world hell holes.

How to be a successful San Francisco Liberal:

    1. Talk about how much you care about minorities and the poor.
    2. Ignore the effects of what happens when you put words to action.
    3. Blame Conservatives when things get bad.
    4. Allow the homeless to use your sidewalks as a public toilet.

    Success!

Wow!!! Is this chick serious? What utopia is she talking about? San Francisco? A city that is completely overrun by homeless people and drug addicts. The one time I went to San Fran that was the thing that stuck out. The homeless. They were EVERYWHERE, to the point that San Francisco has the highest property crime rate.  Must be because of all that progressive awesomeness that makes people want to slowly kill themselves on the street, rather than get help to fix their lives.

OK maybe this chick is not talking about the city of San Francisco or any other Democrat run city that is riddled with crime, corruption, homeless people, garbage and despair. Perhaps she is talking about the Utopia of the suburbs of San Francisco where the median home price is $1,150,000. Because you can live in a progressive bastion of inclusion, tolerance with picturesque towns and low crime rates, if you are in the top 1%.

As long as this technological gravy train keeps running these progressive enclaves can still thrive I guess, because we have NEVER, EVER seen an area with a thriving private sector become ruined by economic change or Innovation, to the point that those businesses that keep the place running leave, or close. That will never happen in her neck of the woods, not in her lifetime anyway and “In the Long Run, we’re all Dead” some economist said, so I doubt this chick cares about the future.

I thought of New York, but then I’ve spent more time in The Friendly City and much less in New York. You lived in New York and spent less time in Chicago. See how that works?

Bingo!  Most of the people like this chick lecture us about tolerance from their gated enclaves surrounded by other gated enclaves.

Money buys a lot of insulation from the real world and a holier-than-thou world view.

San Francisco is less of a city and more of a self-selecting asylum.

Do you think President Trump could build a wall around it overnight with enough funding?

    That’s a wall I would support!

What material would you recommend for building that wall?

    (asking for a friend)

I’m thinking some combination of concrete and barbed wire would work nicely. They could decorate the inside with that street art/ graffiti they seem to be so fond of.

The great thing about walling off SF is that because is it on a peninsula, you don’t a very long wall.

Fear not.  She’s a founding partner of TimeShareCMO.  “Data Driven Digital Marketing Expertise” is their claim to fame.

As long as the Left is making decisions based on the data and analysis provided by this woman, I think we have nothing to worry about . . . .

I hope her business thrives.  Perhaps she can start by signing up Meryl Streep as a customer.

The irony of this is that while she demands that others respect her “urban” opinion, her whole argument is based on a dismissal of rural opinion.

    Respect is a two-way street.

    Not to a lefty.

She has issued one of those “non-apology” apologies, Tweeting:

“I spoke about middle america – my birthplace – inartfully and disrespectfully. I’m sorry for that.”

And she has promised to choose her words more carefully next time:

“Families fight. And I could have chosen my words better. I’ll be more careful next time.”

    I can’t wait.

And I’ve just re-read her original posting.  I’m not sure she was all that “inartful” in much of what she said.  Take her first sentence for example:

” . . . no educated person wants to live in a [redacted] with stupid people.”

I totally get that, and I couldn’t agree more.

    That’s why I live where I do.

She doesn’t stay employed anywhere for very long. If she’s as charming in person as that post indicates, we might have our first clue.

Granted that she is in a fast-moving environment where things change rapidly and it’s common to move from job to job, but she’s not been anywhere for over two years.

    Maybe it’s her.

    I wish.

That post is mild, compared to about 90% of my Facebook feed, the morning after the election.

Here’s a post from a lovely, sweet and kind fellow actress and Catholic I’ve known and liked for years:   “I am stunned that this country hates and fears its Women, Girls, Immigrants, African Americans, Mexicans, Disabled, War Heroes, and basically everyone who isn’t yearning to ‘Make America White Again’ so much that it voted for this horrid, hateful individual endorsed by the KKK. Despicable.

And from another fellow actor I really enjoyed working with:  “If you voted for Trump.  Please unfriend me.  I’m serious.  I have.  No.  No desire to see your vision of the world.  As you clearly have no vision of the world I see.  We can be friendly.  We can occupy the same space. [Ummm, technically, no dude, I don’t think that’s possible] But I will never.  Never.  Understand you.  And frankly right now, I have no desire to.”

Another young actor I know and like was more succinct:  “Great night for Bigots, Fascists, and Rapists.”

That’s the handful of clean ones that I can quote in their entirety.  The rest are such thoroughly vile, expletive-laced rants that a redacted copy would appear even more senseless than the idiot who posted it in the first place.

No doubt she received plenty of well-deserved hate mail.

So the next question is, what weight should be given the the follow up apology.  If it were a conservative making an apparently drunken tweet with a follow up apology, what would we say?

What really drives me nuts about so many of these Urban Lefty types, is that they can’t do anything. If the zombie apocalypse comes and these people are left to fend for themselves, they would die. They don’t know how to defend themselves, they don’t know how to build anything or grow anything. They live off the hardwork and skill of those who live outside the city, but look down their noses at those who feed, cloth and defend them. Ungrateful children they are. Believe me, if the power grid goes down I would much rather be with the Duck Dynasty boys than any of my friends in NYC.
