Membership Challenge, Be Healed

Anyone who visits Ricochet regularly feels drawn to something. I love Ricochet’s podcasts, from the mothership to the latest experiments. I already consider Ricochet the home for the best center-right podcasts on the web. I want to see that family of podcasts thrive.

For a few months I have stared at the progress bar atop the Ricochet homepage and felt vexed that it has not moved far past the midway point. Today I will do my small part to change that by giving three Ricochet memberships to people who are dear to me.

I’ll borrow a theme for a moment from other web-based fundraising campaigns: if each of us will give even one membership, we can knock that blasted progress bar into oblivion.

I hope you will join me in keeping Ricochet alive and well in 2017.

If I know anybody who would actually read and comment on Ricochet I’ll give it to them. I am quite introverted but I’ll see what I can do.

    Thank you, Douglas!

I hope those you give memberships to will become active posters and commenters here.  And I hope you start to post more often yourself.  It’s great to hear from you.

Just for grins, where can one find the membership count-up?

I was thinking this exact same thing not two days ago when I was talking with a good friend of mine who wants to join but can’t afford the membership (yes I know it is only the cost of a latte a month, but it is still too much for some on a tight budget)

Ricochet would be SUCH a good haven for him to discuss his ideas.

    I think I’ll do it :-)

I am reluctant to recommend Ricochet now that the Trumpkins have moved in.  I hope that there will be a civil conservative website created in the future as Trump is neither civil nor conservative, and many of his followers are neither.

During this latest membership drive, I gave one to my husband and upgraded my own.  I’ve given memberships to two other friends in the past who I thought would be a great fit.  One still listens to podcasts and occasionally lurks; the other has been going through some personal stuff and it never really “took” for her.  Maybe I’ll try again…

A full year membership is a really cool gift for the “right” person.

Great idea, Doug. Also, I made Lester LeBlanc’s jambalaya today!

Last year I gave two gift memberships.  One to a very conservative girlfriend from high school, who is just too busy with her life, but she lurks.  The other to a formerly-liberal cousin who had trouble getting his account activated; he is on now, but has health issues that will prevent him from being active for a while.

Do you consider it civil to opine on that topic in this particular thread?
