Trump Picks EPA Head, Left Loses Mind

pruittMany conservatives were nervous when Donald and Ivanka summoned Al Gore to Trump Tower for a discussion on climate change. Any fears were put to rest Wednesday when his transition team chose Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the EPA.

Pruitt gained national attention by suing the EPA over burdensome regulations expected to harm Oklahoma businesses and residents. He challenged the agency’s radical rules on carbon emissions, cross-state air pollution, regional haze, and greenhouse gasses, which relied more on social justice than hard science.

If his legal record doesn’t hearten conservatives, the reaction by the left will. Lefties took to Twitter in a collective primal scream.

Enough with the “denier” smear. The fact is, everyone believes in climate change. But only progressives think it started 100 years ago.

My only concern about Gore meeting with Ivanka was for her personal safety. DJT took care of that by being there in person. Great choice for EPA!

I hope he arrives at the confirmation hearings in a Hummer. And then while under questioning he admits to never recycling and always leaving the water running while brushing his teeth.

Wonder what Trump is going to tweet about tonight. Every time he makes a choice like this he tweets something outrageous, and the press forgets about the real news chasing the tweet squirrel.

For sake of my political cliche bingo card, I’m glad Pelosi brought up the children. If someone could shoehorn ‘wrong side of history’  into their outrage tweet, I win a 2 for 1 coupon at Sizzler.

Schumer’s response is the poster tweet for the weakness of the Dem’s position.

Ninety percent of the country refuses to believe carbon is a clean water/clean air issue.

And ninety percent who do don’t change their lifestyles based on that belief.

The days when the Secretary of Energy could look forward to $8 per gallon gasoline seem like a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Looking forward to so much road kill in the rear view mirror!

I still don’t know how I could have voted for the guy, but I’ve gotta admit, this is kind of fun.  After 8 years of leftist sanctimony, it’s cathartic.

The best way to get the average naive millennial/suburban mom/cultural follow the crowd Climate Changer to switch sides   (or rethink their anti fossil fuel/climate change position) and turn on the Environmental Left is for all the Oil/Gas/Electric businesses to deny access to their products for just one day.

Not one of those snowflakes would tolerate, for even one day, the hardship of doing without the  glorious gift from God that is fossil fuel.

Icing on the cake of liberal sorrows: Fellow Okie and Climate Rationalist Sen. James Inhofe will be Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee.

Sierra Club tears make voting for DJT soooo satisfying.

As a person in the environmental field, it’s time to stop focusing on CO2 and to deal with actual pollution, you know, the kind that makes people sick?  The kind we were trying to fight before everyone decided that CO2 was the devil, despite being a natural product of all animal life and an inherent part of our ecosystem.

What’s worse is that modern environmental activists seem to be driven by emotion, not even wrong-headed scientific theory.   If you want to reduce CO2 emissions, you use power sources  that are virtually carbon-free (the majority of the carbon footprint of these places is the cars of the folks working there) like nuclear and hydroelectric, or the cheap and clean natural gas.  (Natural gas turbines generate very little pollution when run properly)  That was not the choice they made.  Instead, they embarked on a path with biomass, solar, and wind that would not work and could never work.

So yeah, I’m excited to see some pushback.

If he gets rid of Obamacare whole sale (no keeping the preexisting condition clause which I am hearing rumors about that he want to keep) and appoints a principle originatlist then I will not be embarrassed to say I voted for him. Until then we will see.

As @omegapaladin referenced above, the rejection of environment-friendly energy sources like nuclear & natural gas reveal the ugly reality of the climate scam; cronyism and the power to tell others what to do because one is morally superior.  I’m so glad Reid got rid of the filibuster for Cabinet appointments; sauce for the goose…

Apparently the responsibilities of AGs differ between New York and Oklahoma.

I don’t know; this sounds too good.

If I had to surrender a pound of flesh to a Democrat liberal mob, just to give them a chance to save face, I’d probably nominate a guy that the Left hates, and then shrug my shoulders when he gets rejected. Then I’d pretend that I have no choice but to nominate a guy that the Left can live with – but who was my first choice all along.

As I say, I have no proof, other than my Spider-sense is tingling …

Mine too.  This guy will be a lightening rod for all appointment-related criticism, and may take some heat off of other choices.  That’s not a complaint; it’s rather shrewd, actually.
