Yes! I hope this happens and that Trump announces this soon.
Who else? Who will be Sec Def? Treasury? Attorney General?
I bet that Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito are relieved beyond measure right now.
Sarah Palin for Secretary of the Interior.
Wouldn’t that be great?
What about Newt? What will he do for the Trump administration? He should get a cabinet position.
Secretary of State.
Press secretary.
Sorry, John Bolton should get that.
I just read a couple of articles that say Newt is being considered for SecState. I’m happy with that, too, of course. Newt needs to be closer to Trump, though. I don’t know about chief of staff but certainly an adviser. Newt is darn good at chairing things and running things — make him a mister fixit, perhaps.
Newt would have so much fun as press secy. The country would benefit so greatly.
Secy State would not play to Newt’s strengths.
Newt’s a deep thinker and could do the State job well. He may want it and Trump owes him something big.
Press Secretary is a lower level job — not top tier. It’s also a demanding and exhausting job for an older guy.
Can we please all upvote this, and make suggestions both reasonable and plausible? Someone might read it. We might have an influence.
I vote Larry Kudlow for an economics-related position!
OK, I recommended it.
Larry Kudlow will definitely be in the mix — I feel stupid to have forgotten him. He was critical at certain junctures and Trump owes him, too.
Christie? I have real trouble with him. I don’t trust him.
Would like to see Scott Walker in there somewhere. Calm, effective and boring.
Ben Carson Surgeon General? Or, in a bold move, splitting VA with someone from the military. Not sure of Ben’s administration skills, but I always like to see someone who actually knows something about medical matters and hospital systems managing medical matters and hospital systems.
Does he have the err, somethings, to make Carly Fiorina some sort of cyber security advisor or czar?
Ben Carson for VA is inspired.
State: John Bolton
Atty Genl:
Defense:
Treasury:
Interior: Sarah Palin
Education:
Chief of Staff:
Press Secy:
NSA:
Agriculture:
Energy:
HUD:
HHS:
Commerce:
?
Sec Def Allen West
VDH for Agriculture.
How about we just get rid of Education, Agriculture, Energy, HUD, HHS, and Commerce. Then we don’t have to think so hard on who would be good there.
I forgot EPA, which is a part of this set of obsoletes.
I agree with this.
But, I would love to see them at least removed as cabinet positions — what a joke they are.
I think that would be waste of his knowledge base.
Thus far:
State: Bolton (or Gingrich?)
Treasury: Kudlow
VA: Carson
Agriculture: VDH
HUD: someone unexpected like Corey Booker
Interior or possibly better/more fun, EPA?: Sarah Palin
Press Secy: Newt (this is pure selfish desire to see this clever man doing what he does best every day for my relish)
There is no Cabinet-level Culture position, alas!… he’s not just a classical scholar but a practical hard-headed farmer.
Treasury: I’d normally say Kudlow, but we need someone like Joe diGenova (because the IRS needs the attention of a former federal prosecutor)
Agriculture: Pete Ricketts (helped turn the Cubs around)
Commerce: Kudlow
WH Chief of Staff: Kellyanne Conway?
Homeland Security: Michael Chertoff (apparently went full #NeverTrump, so it might be a nice olive branch)
I love this thread. Especially since it demonstrates that Colonel @TKC is freaking prophetic ….
Optimism Question #1 – Sponsored by the Rabble Alliance … May 23,2016
One of the talking heads yesterday suggested Reince Priebus. I think Trump owes him big.
Kellyanne Conway, though, is amazing.
I’d like to think that a Coolidge membership is within “someone’s” budget.
Michael Flynn-Defense or NSC
Priebus gets full marks for being a great and steady hand on the GOP entity. He was fair and balanced. I have had to defend him several times over the last few months. He’s been in a tough spot but he kept his eye on the job for which he was hired. For some reason that is hard for a lot of people to do and I admire his professionalism and solid personality.
