President-Elect Trump
The votes will continue to be counted throughout the day, but Donald J. Trump is projected to win the presidential race. At 2:50 a.m. ET, Donald Trump began his victory speech by announcing that Hillary Clinton called him to concede the contest. Trump said of his rival, “we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.”
Trump’s tone was thankful and magnanimous, reiterating the core themes of his campaign, and asking for national unity after the contentious race. “I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans,” he said. “Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division. It is time for us to come together as one united people.”
Trump also assured world leaders that he will always put the interests of Americans first, but will deal graciously and fairly with them all. “We will seek common ground, not hostility; partnership, not conflict.”
“Every single American will have the opportunity to realize his or her fullest potential,” Trump added. “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer. We are going to fix our inner cities and rebuild our … infrastructure, which will become, by the way, second to none.”

I still can’t believe it!
Trump is now pledging to be President for all Americans, and to reach out to them. Let us hope and pray he is sincere, and follows through.
I’d ask those of us who were ‘mildly’ skeptical of him to at least hold their fire for a while, and to first see what he wants to accomplish.
Look. I cant even begin. And I called it for him.
Commentators have noted that Hillary may win the popular vote, due to late returns from California, in which case Trump may really need to reach out to them, and to offer an olive branch, to avoid, or at least diminish, a reprise of the obloquy directed at Bush after the 2000 election.

May we succeed
Of course leftist commentators will grasp at anything to pretend to a moral case for moving left. And good luck any winning R avoiding maximum obloquy.
Stunning. God bless America.
Boy was I wrong. I really hope I continue to be wrong and that President Trump succeeds – our country needs it. I’m extraordinarily happy that Clinton lost.
Poor Hillary! The Smartest Woman Ever has now lost to a half term junior senator and a reality TV star/businessman. What a terrible candidate.
I echo the sentiment. He gets six months to get a feel for the job, get staff in place and get some things moving. Same thing I give any hire.
If he has managed to not screw the pooch by six months, he gets a year.
Good bye Clintons, your minions, your enablers, and your apologists. it’s been terrible knowing you.
Hillay conceded but couldn’t be bothered to address her own supporters, instead sent Podesta out to send the people home. Keep it classy Hillary .
Here’s to hoping David Limbaugh is right and I am wrong. Good luck President Trump.
Cue all the “What Trump must do” thinkpieces from the same folks who knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he couldn’t win a primary/the candidacy/the Presidency.
Congrats to Donald Trump. It was a decisive and emphatic victory. Hopefully the Office of the Presidency will have the effect of humbling him and encourage him to seek the wise counsel of others – particularly conservatives.
The next few weeks and months will be extremely interesting to see what happens with the Clinton family and the Clinton Foundation. So many foreign investors who thought they were getting favored status with a future Clinton presidency now all for naught.
It will also be interesting to see if fractures start to appear in the Democrat Party and how quickly some on the Left begin to trash the corrupt Clintons and the ineptitude of Hillary. Leftists don’t like to lose and like sharks, get excited if there’s blood in the water.
“God has given America one more chance.”
I expect we will see them tomorrow. What opposition? Who me?
Trump may be a good President, he may be a bad President, but right now I am so glad that Hillary lost.
I was sleeping soundly, secure in the thought that our new robot overlady would be president, when my wife woke me with the news.
Exit question:
How many of you who thought you weren’t in a swing state, were in a swing state?
I love it when a plan comes together!
His speech was appropriately gracious and unexpectedly humble.
I am reminded of a quote from HL Mencken:
“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”
Don’t forget to order your Trump “Champagne“.
I am in complete agreement with you, for a change, though I fear that Dems may indeed trash the Clintons, and then follow the advice of ‘The Young Turks,’ and embrace Sanders’ warmed-over Marxism.
This is the second day in a row I find myself agreeing with you. Will wonders never cease? ?
C’mon Fred, give him a chance to demonstrate what his priorities are before you put him down.
Fascinating times. We just elected a chance instead of no chance. We should try and be positive despite our fears. God help us and God Bless America.
I wonder if the uncultured Trump will start issuing gassy pronouncements on “Office of the President-Elect” stationery soon.
I’m spent the last 18 months watching him demonstrate his priorities.
Probably few here will agree with me, but rather than put the nation through a long series of dramatic Congressional investigations dominating the daily airwaves, I would hope we could let the Clintons quietly retire to Chappaqua. The state of New York can pursue whatever investigations it feels are necessary re the foundation. Our country deserves to take a Clinton breather.
Yeah, that was unexpectedly nice.
