The New York Post:
A dumpster blew up at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night in Chelsea, blowing out the lower windows of a 14-story residence for the blind.
At least 26 suffered minor injuries from what may have been an explosive device, police sources told The Post.
Update 10:15PM, the FBI is on the scene:

Update 10:21PM, more info on the earlier explosion in New Jersey:
An explosion along the route of a Marines charity run in New Jersey Saturday morning prompted a lockdown, as authorities canvassed the area for other possible explosive devices.
Nobody was injured in the incident because of an unexpected delay, but thousands were expected to take part in the race.
Update 1:00AM, blast “intentional,” says Mayor Blasio (from Fox News):
An explosion that injured at least 29 people in New York City late Saturday appeared to be “intentional,” Mayor Bill de Blasio announced
And the police have a video of the explosion (New York Post):
O’Neill said sidewalk surveillance video from prior to the explosion was under careful review.
“We believe it was intentional,” the mayor told reporters of the blast.
NYPD officers, including members of the Counterterrorism Squad, were on the scene throughout the night, along with FBI agents and police helicopters with searchlights.
The cause of the explosion was still under investigation early Sunday.
“We do have video, and we do see the explosion,” NYPD commissioner James O’Neill told reporters. The blast happened on O’Neill’s first day taking over from Bill Bratton as commissioner.
But it’s not terrorism, promise! (New York Post)
The blast went off in a 4-by-4-by-3-foot construction Dumpster outside the Townhouse Inn of Chelsea at 131 W. 23d St., and was not believed to be an act of terror, officials said late Saturday.

Earlier today a pipe bomb exploded in New Jersey. So this explosion in Chelsea seems very suspicious. I used to live in Chelsea, just a few blocks from where this explosion happened. Still, let’s not completely jump to conclusions. In 2010, just two days after the failed Times Square bombing, before Faisal Shahzad had been captured, there was a gas explosion in my neighborhood of Brooklyn. It was very unnerving to hear the gas explosion from our apartment. Of course, of course, we thought it was a bomb, given what had happened days earlier. Luckily, it was a relatively small gas explosion; no one was hurt — it just made a big noise.
So we’ll see what this one turns out to be.
Oh, I just read the explosion was in a trash can. So that pretty much rules out gas explosion, if you ask me.
Unless it involved beans. Does sound kind of Tsarnaevish, though.

Now they found a secondary device. I expect the ‘be nice to muslims’ rants to begins soon.
The mayor of New York stated that tis was an intentional act, but it was not terrorism. Can anyone square that circle?
That would make it performance art. I’ll take My Mayor is Insane for $500, Alex.
But everyone on CNN takes the mayor’s statement that it was intentional, but not terrorism at face value.
Nobody knows who did this, yet. It could have been anyone: it wasn’t necessarily Islamic terrorism, but if it was intentional, it was terrorism. And whoever did it is a terrorist. But apparently the public can’t be trusted with that information.
Because using the T word helps one presidential candidate more than the other so the Clinton News Network goes along with Mayor Tough On Slurpees.
Tom Fuentes just came on CNN and basically said what I said; he accused the mayor of playing word games.
God bless us all. And never let fear make your decisions.
Besides the bombs in NYC and New Jersey, there’s 1 dead and a dozen or more injured in a stabbing attack in Minnesota and another stabbing attack in Calgary, Alberta.
Can’t wait to hear how the NRA is somehow behind this.
Usually they say that right away when they know nothing, a lie. Then it turns out to be Muslims. If it’s not an outright lie, then that should mean they know who did it and why. It could be a crime without a political motive or it could be a group they don’t want to label as terrorists.
Tom Fuentes basically said that anyone who intentionally plants a bomb is a terrorist, regardless of race or creed, regardless of why they did it. There is no evidence that this was Islamic terrorism, but if it was intentional, it was terrorism. The fact that government officials don’t want to call it terrorism does not stop it from being terrorism.
I cant wait to see who this dashing, complex and misunderstood rebel is who’ll soon grace the cover of Rollingstone.
Obviously, an angry white male Trump supporter who hates women, gays, trannies and Hillary. Also, probably a Mets fan.
Islam: it’s a blast!
How much longer will we let those damned Methodists keep getting away with this stuff?
Why that time and place? One unexploded bomb and another in a dumpster at that hour? A dumpster is a great big shield. That sounds like the worst place to put a bomb. I wonder if those were being prepositioned for use within the next couple of days. Is there a big bombable even there coming up? I assume the perps knew when trash pickup was going occur and planned something before then.
My money is on the Amish. DiBlasio’s threat to ban the horse and buggy in NYC is an act of cultural aggression that cannot stand. The English and those urban crusades. I mean have you seen Witness?
DiBlasio didn’t say it wasn’t terrorism. He said there is no evidence it was.
There’s no evidence that DiBlasio’s IQ exceeds room temperature, either.
Let’s someone else take a stab at it.
That’s an interesting theory. And you’re right—a dumpster isn’t a great location, and the place and time don’t seem really aimed at a big crowd. I saw the CCTV footage, and there were several people on the sidewalks, but not a crowd. All that trouble for a bomb—wouldn’t you intend to get more people? And my wife points out that dumpsters are usually placed a bit away from people anyway.
Your theory coud explain why only one of the bombs went off—perhaps it went off by accident.
Someone thought the bombs would be powerful enough to turn the dumpster into shrapnel. This probably wasn’t the act of anyone with any serious training.
Every Progressive in the country can.
So, a bomb with a cell phone trigger is waiting to go off somewhere else, but when the first bomb goes off, everybody in the area calls someone (“did you hear that?”) and the second bomb can’t be activated. Or the cops quick like a bunny get the cell tower shut down. Or both.
Either way, the cops have the cell phone, which means they have its serial number, which means they know where it was sold, which means they know which security video system to check …
Well, that’s true if you use the literal meaning of “terrorist.” But in contemporary America, the word “terrorist” is a euphemism for “Muslim.” We’re not allowed to say “this was another Islamic mass murder of innocent civilians,” so we use the word “terrorist” to mean that.

Attack stopped by an armed off duty cop. Another case of a good guy with a gun…
Religion of piece(s).
This is more than enough evidence. Remember. The FBI cracked the 1993 WTC bombing when one of the islamofascists tried to get a refund on his truck rental deposit.
