Breaking: FBI Releases Clinton Email Info

FBIWhat’s that? It’s a Friday before a holiday weekend? Time for a Clinton document dump!

Today the FBI is releasing a summary of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s July 2, 2016 interview with the FBI concerning allegations that classified information was improperly stored or transmitted on a personal e-mail server she used during her tenure. We also are releasing a factual summary of the FBI’s investigation into this matter. We are making these materials available to the public in the interest of transparency and in response to numerous Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Appropriate redactions have been made for classified information or other material exempt from disclosure under FOIA. Additional information related to this investigation that the FBI releases in the future will be placed on The Vault, the FBI’s electronic FOIA library.

The Clinton campaign thanks you for your timing, FBI. You can view the documents here. Feel free to let us know what you find.

The Clinton modus operandi of delaying and stalling and then wondering why the Republicans are “pursuing a witch hunt* ” is not going to work in an election year.

Such tactics only work if there is no step to be taken in the immediate future as was the case when Bill was President or Hillary was Secretary of State. This time, we are evaluating Hillary’s worthiness to be our next President, and this relentless release of damning information is undermining the public’s trust in her.

    * Which, of course, implies she’s a witch.

I’ve printed it out, but if this section is any indication, the useful stuff is all redacted.

Are we at that stage where truth is stranger than fiction?

Ace links some juicy stuff as well. She didn’t know the “C” stood for classified. Okay… And Comey believed that with a straight face?

I don’t know whether it is funny or insulting, but something is very wrong with this. It isn’t just that I’m not a fan of Clinton, but I’m not a fan of what this represents about the country. And I think it is certainly challenging my beliefs in other areas. We are living in a world where there are multiple Americas. Not just in terms of education and job opportunities, but also in our legal system. And it is hard to even pretendfor the sake of argument, that we don’t. I mean, I can understand the idea that the rich get it easier in the law. They get good lawyers. Ok. That’s understandable. Not that great of a critique.

But now we have classes of people where the law doesn’t even apply to them. What do you even do? The system of checks and balances have broken down completely. We are forced to watch as unelected bureaucrats take us for a ride. They have their laws and we have our own laws. Is this any way to run a country? Are there laws I get to break? And who decides this stuff?

The (C) stands for Confidential. Each paragraph in a classified document will have a marking. There is no way she did not know what it meant, between her time in the Senate and in the State Department. This is pathetic.

Thank you for spotting! I got them switched up. But then again… I don’t work for gov’t handling that stuff and I’m not running for President. So we can all sleep well.

I agree with you. It is is pathetic.  She lied to FBI but they decided not to put her under oath. She lied under oath to Congress but I guess they don’t care so much about that. We have people in government now and they’ve decided the laws really don’t apply to them, or certain members of their constituents. This isn’t the way it should be.

Maybe Trump will enlist help in cleaning up the place. We can hope right? This is why I have to lean on my faith. I am scared to death if I don’t.

Disagree with Trump. I don’t think he knows what he is doing, or will necessarily find people that do know what they are doing. But at this point, even if you did, the scope of the struggle is greater than we thought. Heck, I imagine many of the administrators might just decide to act in open defiance of someone like Trump, and the way the government is today, and, I guess, the way much of the American public is, they’d get away with it. Not saying that is an argument against Trump– just that I doubt Trump’s competency, and I doubt the ability of even a competent person to make such changes.

Regarding faith– I totally agree. For years now I’ve been moving in areas where I had to learn to rely on God to get me through. And I’m there now as well. Waiting on the government to be reformed or for economic growth to pick up isn’t a bad thing, but it almost certain to leave one disappointed. I’m happy that I have my hope fixed elsewhere. There are good and bad votes. But that isn’t where I’m placing my ultimate trust. So while I get agitated at this stuff, I’m not afraid.

This is a good point. Hillary said she forgot stuff due to a concussion. It is a miracle of sorts that all the stuff she forgot was the stuff that could’ve put her in jail (the “mens rea” stuff). I’m not that old but I know people joked all the time about how Reagan’s Alzheimer’s was endangering the country (but you aren’t supposed to joke about people’s disabilities if it isn’t Reagan). McCain was too old and sick to President and that meant that you were actually voting Palin into office if you voted for McCain. But Hillary is on record admitting some serious mental trauma. Friday night news dump. This is where we are now. I find myself hoping for Trump and his surrogates to play it smart on this one.

This is an argument that favors Trump.  The administrators are going to be in agreement with Clinton, so she can do much more damage.

One of the forms put out was her acknowledgment of receiving a security briefing. Does that look like her signature? (It doesn’t look like a woman’s handwriting) and why is the date in a European format?

As with many high-level government-types, Clinton doubtless had an “autopen” machine her staff could use to sign “insignificant” documents without bothering her highness.  There’s a good chance the form was autopen’d and a Europhile staffer entered the date by hand.

Addendum to #27:  To be clear, autopenning a document in no way relieves the principal official of responsibility for the signed document.  Clinton is no more/less responsible for her actions if the non-disclosure form was signed mechanically on her behalf.
