Who!?

Via ABC News:

Evan McMullin, a former CIA counterterrorism officer, will run for president as a third-party conservative alternative to Donald Trump, GOP operatives working to back the candidate told ABC News today. The operatives working on McMullin’s bid resigned from Better for America in order to work on his candidacy. The operatives from the group, a 501(c)(4) organization that cannot officially endorse or back McMullin’s bid, has been working for months on trying to select a candidate and get on ballots throughout the country. In some states, like Texas, they will likely have to sue to get on the ballot. A 501(c)(4) is an issue-based nonprofit that can raise unlimited funds and does not have to disclose its donors. It’s an extreme uphill climb, but they are confident McMullin, 40, can act as a disruptor who they hope can peel off some red states in a race where some Republicans are still resistant to Donald Trump.

The King Prawn:I hope he’s at least entertaining, otherwise such flailing will just be sad.

Yeah, at least with Vermin Supreme you would have the promise of a pony. What does his guy have to offer, ” I plan on losing the election in order to . . . ?”

They found someone so obscure he’ll make David French (the previous candidate to rescue people from voting for Trump) look well known… Poor fellow.

Mr. Dart:“McMullin … has some well-known GOP operatives working behind the effort, including Republican consultant Rick Wilson and Florida-based pollster and operative Joel Searby.” -ABCNews

    Sad.

I’m only surprised that Mike Murphy, Bill Kristol, and Liz Mair aren’t involved.

Wait, scratch that… Murphy would want to be paid up front.

Vermin Supreme and that guy from The Rent’s Too D@@@ High Party must have been already committed to run for other parties.

BrentB67:McMullinMania? McMania? Gilmore for VP? A lot to work with here.

I feel sorry for the guy and hope he enjoys his 15 seconds.

Do you think he will get 15 seconds?

Sure this is a desperate move but we are in desperate times, are we not?  Trump is on course to get obliterated by Hillary in November(deservedly so) and we all know what a disaster Hillary will be for the country.  The Libertarian Party decided not to nominate a Libertarian this cycle so what are you gonna do?  If this guy gets on the ballot in Minnesota I will vote for him.

Me too, Frozen Chosen. Otherwise, I would have left the presidential oval blank and only voted for the lower offices. Minnesota will go for Hillary.

Can anyone spell Supreme Court?  Ye gods.  Holding our noses as we vote may be the only answer here…

The Supreme Court is very important obviously but it’s not the only consideration.  Having an emotionally unstable president who could decimate our economy with trade wars or, heaven forbid, start a nuclear war would be worse than having a liberal majority on the court.  Besides, Trump is just as likely to nominate his liberal sister as a conservative judge.  The guy can’t be trusted.

He looks solid on the issues. One little problem. Why should I trust an unknown with no history of policy decisions? He seems fine enough, but that “sense,” alone, is insufficient to persuade me.
