Dear Barack: Why Ahmed, But Not Hallel

On September 14, 2015, 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, was arrested at MacArthur High School in Irving, TX, for bringing an alleged fake bomb to school. He claimed that it was a pencil box filled with reassembled clock parts. His teacher thought it resembled a bomb and called the authorities. This led to his eventual suspension from his high school.

Enter the national mainstream media. The story quickly went viral, and led to another soul-searching discussion of how Islamophobic America is (“See Something, Say Something” be damned). #IStandWithAhmed became a worldwide trending hashtag, and tech companies flooded Ahmed with offers of jobs, internships, tours, and other gifts.

Then, two days later, at 12:58 PM, Ahmed got a Willy Wonka golden ticket:

(Please note that his tweet got an monumental 417,171 retweets.)

The President, always ready to shame and guilt America, tweeted “Cool clock, Ahmed” and offered him a chance to visit the White House. Obama, who once famously claimed police “acted stupidly,” and that Trayvon Martin could have been his son, leapt at the chance to indict the country he leads of being racist and Islamophobic.

Lost in the #IStandWithAhmed frenzy was the story headlined “Ahmed’s Sister Admits School Suspension for Alleged Bomb Threat 3 Years Earlier.” Fox News also uncovered the fact that his father pushed 9/11 conspiracy theories online:

[Megyn] Kelly reported that a controversial 9/11 conspiracy theory Facebook post from Mohamed’s father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, first caught her attention.

Reporter Trace Gallagher said it appears the dad operates two different Facebook pages. On his personal page, he reported, the elder Mohamed wrote about how “killing without rightness” is prohibited by Islam. But there’s also apparently an Arabic Facebook page that also appears to be run by Elhassan Mohamed.

“There’s also an Arabic Facebook page for the National Reform Party, a political party started by Elhassan Mohamed, bearing a similar profile picture and address,” Gallagher explained. “Only, this webpage is much more active and the tone is very different, including a 14-minute conspiracy theory clip on the 9/11 terrorist attacks and a post that shows the smoking World Trade towers, describing as a U.S.-sponsored hoax to launch a world war against Islam and Muslims.”

No matter. Obama got to insult his own country and the media made a folk hero out of someone who later moved to Qatar and, with a scholarship from the Qatar Foundation for Education, went to Qatar Academy. Last week, he and his family returned to the United States.

Kevin Williamson precisely summed up the incident for National Review:

Mohamed’s father says that his son was mistreated because the incident happened a few days after the annual commemoration of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, and because his name is Mohamed. The story immediately became ubiquitous not because of what actually happened — boneheaded as that was — but because it can be used to further a story that the media already want to tell: that the United States is morally corrupt and irredeemably racist; that Muslims are under siege; that “white privilege” blinds the majority of Americans to the corruption at the heart of everything red, white, and blue. Muslim kid meets paranoia in Texas is A-1 copy; NRA-wearing kid meets paranoia in West Virginia, not so much.

On June 30, 2016, 13-year-old Hallel Ariel was stabbed to death in her bed by a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist. Her only crime was sleeping. The murder, which shocked Israelis and which Palestinians celebrated, was barely a blip on worldwide social media. In an increasingly anti-Semitic and Jew-hating world, a savage murder of a sleeping teenage girl barely moves the needle.

Remember that President Obama tweeted to Ahmed at 12:58 PM, two days after his incident.

I am writing this article at 12:58 PM, two days after Hallel was slaughtered. There has been no tweet from @POTUS. I didn’t expect one, and knew I would be writing this article. It is still gross to see what subjects the President uses his bully pulpit to draw attention to, in attempts to shame America.

Not even the fact that Ariel had dual American and Israeli citizenship causes our President to use a single keystroke to condemn her murder. A murder by a Palestinian. I have long contended that Obama is always on the wrong side of issues and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is Exhibit A. He hates Israel, despises Benjamin Netanyahu, and has little to no use for Jews. A condemnation of Hallel’s murder might anger the Palestinians, and Obama can’t have any part of that.

Sadly, President Obama can’t invite Hallel Ariel to the White House, and he certainly won’t invite her parents.  That coveted invitation is saved for parents unworthy of the invite…

In a truly just, moral and sane world in a just and sane universe,  Barack H. Obama and the pro-islamist scions of the Left would have CAIR over for a el eid celebratory feast at the White House where they would be televised being incinerated by an Islamic suicide bomber between the Jalebi and the coffee.

If Attorney General Lynch survives the conflagration she will be free to expunge all Islamic references from her report and post assassination talking points.

But we all know we don’t live in a just and sane country so it isn’t even a wish or desired outcome.
