Terror Attack in Tel Aviv Leaves 4 Dead, 6 Wounded
The latest report on the incident via Haaretz:
Four people were killed and six others were wounded in a shooting attack at a food and shopping center in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, after two Palestinian gunmen opened fire on passersby. Netanyahu called a security briefing in Tel Aviv.
All of the wounded were evacuated to nearby hospitals. One of the shooters was captured by police and taken in for questioning, and the other was taken to Ichilov Hospital in serious but stable condition.
…Police said they had no prior knowledge of the two Palestinian attackers, who entered Israel illegally. Palestinian sources said the attackers were members of the same family and are from the Hebron area.
The attack took place at Sarona Market, an upscale food and retail center located opposite to the military headquarters in central Tel Aviv and near government buildings. Police said they received a call at 9:30 P.M. regarding shootings heard at Sarona. As emergency forces were making their way to the scene, there was another of a shooting incident at near the food and shopping center.
In response, CNN breaks out the scare quotes:

Israel needs prayers tonight.
This headline came accross my FB feed with a comment that “CNN” ran with the same headline for a while.
Can anyone confirm ?
??
All of the reports I have seen on this–first saw it at 3pm EST–said that two Palestinians dressed as Ortho-Jews (sorry for the abreviation if that sounds rude). Fox interveiwed some Israeli Police bigwig and he said they were in fact Palestinians. Hamas has been tweeting celebratory things all evening.
Death should follow.
Will world leaders fly to Tel Aviv and march in the street to show solidarity? Will Lurch take some has-been folk singer there to tell them they have a friend? I guess there are some places where terrorism is “O.K.”
Pen,
Just another day in the neighborhood. If Israel decides to strike back at the jihadist network they won’t know where or when.
Regards,
Jim
Fresh updates, great interview: John Batchelor talks to Aaron Klein, investigative journalist who happens to live minutes from the attack site.
Not true that civilian shooter took down terrorist.
All signs point to HAMAS, but why?

Yes, it’s rude.
Apparently the attackers were two brothers from Yattah, a village in the Hebron hills (in Area C of the West Bank).
Hamas praised the attack, and called the brothers members of the resistance, but beyond that it’s unclear whether they were a part of Hamas or just ‘the resistance’.
What a terrible thing to happen.
I’m kinda confused as to how Hamas members have ended up in Hebron.
Hamas is a political party (among other things). It rules Gaza, but it has members (and I guess cells) in the West Bank as well. So it’s possible that the brothers were Hamas members, though it’s not a certain thing.
Ditto Fatah and PFLP are political parties (or movements) – and while Fatah is the figurehead ruling (parts of) the WB, there are Fatah and PFLP members and families in Gaza.
Spare us your crocodile tears. We all know which side you’re on. We all know that when the Israelis strike back as anybody would you’ll go right back to calling it “ethnic cleansing” and wringing your hands in concern for these animals’ “rights.”
Historically, Arabs living north of Jerusalem were predominantly Christian, whereas those living south of Jerusalem were predominantly Muslim. So Samaria was a PLO redoubt, while Judea was more sympathetic to Hamas. Today, Muslims have taken over most of the West Bank (cf. attempts to push Christians out of Bethlehem), so this isn’t as useful a guide anymore. Even so, Hebron has retained its status as one of the most militant Muslim cities, and is a hotbed of Hamas activism.
Unless and until he does, let’s address what people actually say and refrain from assigning motives, please. It’s neither right nor constructive. I don’t know if Zafar may have had a change of heart on some of these questions, even a small one, but I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
