Feds Investigating VA Gov. Terry McAuliffe for Campaign Contributions

Clinton_McAuliffeBreaking news from CNN:

Virginia Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the FBI and prosecutors from the Justice Department’s public integrity unit, U.S. officials briefed on the probe say.

The investigation dates to at least last year and has focused, at least in part, on whether donations to his gubernatorial campaign violated the law, the officials said.

And is there a Clinton connection? But of course:

As part of the probe, the officials said, investigators have scrutinized McAuliffe’s time as a board member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a vehicle of the charitable foundation set up by former President Bill Clinton.

There’s no allegation that the foundation did anything improper; the probe has focused on McAuliffe and the electoral campaign donations, the officials said…

Among the McAuliffe donations that drew the interest of the investigators was $120,000 from a Chinese businessman, Wang Wenliang, through his U.S. businesses. Wang was previously delegate to China’s National People’s Congress, the country’s ceremonial legislature…

Wang also has been a donor to the Clinton foundation, pledging $2 million.

You would think after Virginia’s former Gov. Bob McDonnell was busted for illegal campaign gifts, his successor would be a bit more careful. But this is Terry McAuliffe we’re talking about.

Hey, I mean, they of course will use the same conviction and sentencing criteria they used with Dinesh D’Souza, right?

But CNN is already reporting that Wenliang had a green card, so any contributions would have been legal. Plus, he’s given a lot of money to a lot of causes so it’s all good.

This form of unlimited campaign contributions via giving speeches, being on the board of some BS foundation and futures trading reach-around’s, will last until Republicans start doing it. Then expect the door to close on it.

    Some Evita. Nice.

Here’s another one I keep remembering when I think about Hillary and this bunch:

How annoying that they have to fight elections for their cause
The inconvenience, having to get a majority
If normal methods of persuasion fail to win them applause
There are other ways of establishing authority

And to think, with a little help from the RNC, Virginia could have had a real governor.

Maybe the reason the FBI has not yet moved on the Hillary email thing is that they actually were moving on a second track as some have speculated.

We have been trying to bring focus on the scandal of her massive security breach but Democrats and the MSM don’t really care about things like disloyalty, damage to national security or treason so it has been uphill.

But what if the deleted “personal” emails include indications of quid pro quo for donations to the Clinton Foundation Lifestyle Fund a la McAuliffe?

A corruption charge would preclude Hillary from using the Lanny Davis Maneuver (…you’ve already reported that, no new news here, move along, any coverage of this is just partisan Clinton-bashing…) as they clearly planned to continue doing in re the email server scandal.

And filing such a formal charge would creative a pretty festive mood down here in the bunker.

Interesting development here.  I will be curious to see if Mr. Wang has any tie to Lindenburg Industry, which is a fraudulent Chinese company that received in excess of $1M in Virginia tax money at the direction of Governor McAuliffe.  Despite locals here in the Lynchburg area having high hopes for new jobs for our neighbors to the east in Appomattox, the deal with this Chinese company was a complete bust.
