Trump’s Tiny Hands Crush Little Marco

On today’s podcast, we play the new game: Primaries or Game of Thrones. I outline a scenario and you try to guess: Is it something that happened in the primaries, or is it a scene from Game of Thrones? For instance: A sociopathic tyrant tortures a man until he turns him into his mindless lackey. Ramsay Bolton and Theon Greyjoy? Or Donald Trump and Chris Christie? Tune in. The fun is just beginning!

My wife and I watched Hombre last night; two thumbs up. She is South Dakota ranch-raised and a tough critic of westerns that don’t support the ethos, but she approved. After all, the really execrable villain was an effete eastener.

I liked it too. There are hints of the PC to come, but thankfully this was made a few years before nothing-but-noble Indian characterization swept through Hollywood westerns like a wildfire spread by flaming tumbleweeds…sorry, got carried away in AK-fashion there. In this case I thought it was a believable, legitimate plot device. In the same way the first couple of racist, southern sheriff movies were probably fine. In the Heat of the Night? Well, there were racist sheriffs. Just not in every other town.
