Rick Scott caused quite a stir when he appeared on “Morning Joe” Thursday. The Florida Governor was on for about three minutes. Joe Scarborough asked Scott a couple of questions, which Scott just wouldn’t answer.
First Scarborough asked whether he’d be making an endorsement. Scott ran his gibberish.exe program and said … well, we’re not sure what. Then Scarborough asked, “Why wouldn’t you endorse the sitting senator from the state of Florida? That seems like a pretty easy endorsement to me.” Scott said something … again, we can’t tell you what.
Then Scarborough asked Scott whether he would reject a statement Donald Trump made about Islam the previous evening. Scott changed the subject and yet again didn’t answer the question. At which point co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “I know you and Joe are friends and this is kind of awkward. But … can you answer the question or should we scoot?”
Scott, whose smile software seemed to be in overdrive, started talking about how glad he was that the debate was in Florida (yeah, we know…), so Brzezinski just cut him off and went to commercial.
Look, we don’t want to be accused of being luddites here, but as Rick Scott proves, robots just aren’t ready to totally replace humans yet. Especially as political figures.
