I followed it on Twitter. One word describes the technique: suffering.

He paces angrily for an hour when the Reuters daily poll shows Donald Trump in the lead.

Trump’s at around 38 in the poll. Jon’s lost 38 pounds. Coincidence? I think not.

I did the same thing for my wedding last April.  Total de-carbohydrate diet, daily exercise, burned my old clothes as they got too big.  Lost 39.5 # from Dec 26 to April 10, that’s 105 days.  Went to NYC for 5 days after the wedding, ate rich food and drank fine champagne, gained 17# in those 5 days.  Worked most of it off.  Now, 7 months later, struggling to maintain a 25# net loss.  Easy come, easy go.  It ain’t easy.

October 2012, I weighed 97 kg. I cut out almost all highly refined carbohydrates (sugar, flour, rice, potatoes, et al) and by August of 2013 I was down to 79 kg. That’s a loss of 39.7 lbs in 10 months. This morning, I weighed 77.3 kg (170.4 lbs). That’s what I weighed upon release from active duty in the Navy in 1969 when I was in the best shape I’ve ever been in. My blood work is fine, according to the cardiologist. So, all the meat (red, white, and shades in between) and other fats have not caused any of the problems the Nannytarians threaten us with. Check out Timothy Ferriss’s “Slow Carb Diet” for more information. It’s very similar to what’s popularly called the Paleo Diet.

    Mike LaRoche:God bless beef jerky.

When I first moved to Texas, I read a guy’s Match.com profile that said if he really likes someone, he gives her flowers or jerky.

This thread is puzzling. I met Mr. Gabriel briefly at the Ricochet LA event at USC in January 2014. He struck me as a guy who didn’t have 38 lbs. to lose. Am I to infer that he gained 38 pounds during 2014 so he needed to lose them in 2015?

But if we want Trump to drop in the polls, does that mean Gabriel has to regain the pounds?

The quickest way for a middle-aged man to develop the motivation to take the weight off and keep it off is for him to acquire a much younger mistress.

I lost 50 using weight watchers, but the sympathy weight during the later part of the pregnancy has been difficult to get back off.

I did the same last year, 215 to 175 in about six months. It was a combination of severely restricting carbs and weight training. Dropped to a pants size I hadn’t seen since about 9th grade.
