Five Months of Hillary Emails Missing

President Nixon got in a world of hurt over a missing 18½ minutes of audio tape. What a piker:

Five months worth of messages are missing from the emails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton returned to the government, according to documents newly obtained by the watchdog group Judicial Watch.

“A five month email gap,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said at the non-profit group’s inaugural Leadership Summit Monday. “I want an explanation about that.”

Clinton submitted a statement to a federal court Aug. 10 under the penalty of perjury that she submitted all of the required emails…

“It’s malarkey that the emails Clinton withheld were of a personal nature,” Fitton said. He said her personal emails were “intertwined and indistinguishable” from work-related emails and federal records.

In an update, the Daily Caller identifies the gap as follows:

  • All emails received by Clinton’s account from Jan. 21, 2009 to March 17, 2009.
  • All emails sent from the account from Jan. 21, 2009 to April 12, 2009 and again from Dec. 30, 2012 to Feb. 1, 2013.

Thank goodness the State Department has appointed a “transparency czar” to ensure that all FOIA and congressional requests about Hillary’s emails are handled efficiently and ethically. Oh wait:

Janice Jacobs, the State Department’s new “transparency czar,” is included in some of the private Hillary Clinton emails she is meant to oversee.

Jacobs, a career diplomat who was appointed last week as the agency’s transparency coordinator, is copied on a number of now-classified emails that have been released by the State Department over the past several months…

But Jacobs herself is included among the records she is charged with disclosing, raising questions about her impartiality when it comes to screening her own correspondence.

For example, Jacobs is copied on an email that discussed “diplomatic activity” in North Korea. The email has since been classified.

Last week it was revealed that Jacobs donated $2,700 to Clinton’s presidential campaign. Nothing to see here folks.

Jon Gabriel, Ed.: For example, Jacobs is copied on an email that discussed “diplomatic activity” in North Korea.

Every person who receives an email on an unclassified system they believe might be classified is required to enact the spillage protocols for government networks. Spillage is defined as “the unintentional release of secure information to an unsecured environment.” The basic protocol is to immediately disconnect the machine on which the potentially classified information is received from the unclassified network and notify IT/security immediately. Her email shenanigans did not just put her in jeopardy of violating numerous regulations and laws but also put everyone she emailed who did nothing in potential hot water as well.

If she skates on all this we are officially a banana republic…..but in reality I expect her to.

Agree. She will never suffer any real consequence. If she does manage to stagger her way to winning the Dem nomination, there’s a good chance she’ll be the next president because:  47% support baked in the cake for the Dem, Republicans appear to be self-destructing.

I’d say Ms. Jacobs is doing an excellent job.

State Department corruption and lies are becoming more and more transparent with each passing day.

Five months, huh? That’s a whole mess o’ yoga lessons. Of course, nothing could have been happening with the Clinton Foundation and Uranium deals with the Russians during that time. No, I’m sure I’m mistaken. What was I thinking?

Jon, why are you sensationalizing such a mundane fact. It’s easy to explain -inflation. How much is the $200K house you bought in Palo Alto in 1975 valued at today? Nixon’s missing 18 minutes in 1968 adjusted for inflation would now be a little over 21/2 years. Let’s keep it all in perspective.

I’m beginning to think my pre-conception that government work does not pay is completely erroneous.

If the consequences she suffers includes her giving a speech about dropping out of the race and public life to spend more time with her granddaughter then she hops in the mystery machine and rides off into the sunset with Huma we should be pleased and thankful for the gift we’ve been handed.

What do those gaps correspond with? It looks like they date to the beginning and end of her tenure.

Would you rather face her and her baggage or a potentially better politician from the dems? Her level of scandal is high enough even the lickspittle media can’t divert attention.

I still think that the main correspondence that Hillary wanted to hide was the agreement that she made with her “good friend” Donald Trump . . . to enter the race, mung things up for the GOP, and assure her victory.

Sorry but no. The Repubs are busy making sure we all know they tried really, really hard to block that bad thing Obama did with that bad country in that really bad part of the world. But they tried really, really hard.

Color me stupid, but I think there is a good chance, that this is going to end Hillary’s political career.  It will not happen quickly—it will be drip, drip and death by a thousand cuts but in the end, it will bring her down. We only have another 16 months of the Obama Justice Department, and I think that James Comey is a straight shooter who won’t cave to the political pressure.  She probably won’t get jail time, but I could see probation and a huge fine.  It’s only going to get worse if any of the deleted emails can be recovered.  And her testimony to the Benghazi Committee will also be key.  It’s way too early to conclude that she will get off scot free.

Conservatives should give Hillary a little support these days.  She is a champion of deregulation and laissez faire.  The Clinton Foundation and her State Department administration operate(d) with no government regulation and no government interference. Isn’t that what we should all aspire to?

Scandals do not matter on the left. Progressives practice false religion and their idols are infallible.

Biden is a better politician on and off the debate stage.

We can win no matter who they run if we bring the enthusiasm. We didn’t do it in 2012 and outside of Trumpalooza we are repeating the mistake this year.

If Republicans want a scandal-damaged Hillary Clinton in the race just because she would be easier to beat, they are sending a message to voters (a message that is sure to be amplified by the media) that they really don’t care about her abuses of her office other than as a way to score political points.   In other words, they are fake when they claim to be opposed to her wrongdoing.   And sometimes I wonder if that’s exactly what they are.

The first months were before her server was even protected by whatever weak protection she finally had installed, by her own admission. I’m guessing she failed to produce the emails from these months because there is a lot of classified stuff on them, and it will look terrible for her when it is shown that these didn’t even have the most basic protection from hackers.

I don’t know that she should go to jail for treason.  Treason is and ought to be a very high bar.  But there are a lot of other reasons she should be in jail.  And if she is not going to end up in prison, there are a lot of people who are serving time for white-collar crime who should be set free.

I can live with your assessment. So long as there is jail time involved.
