Foreign Policy Black Comedy: The Prince of Fools

Fool

You must give John Kerry credit. Who else could play the idiot with a straight face like he can. Just today — again — he knocked me to the floor with a comment so devoid of intelligence, so totally inane as to astound beyond all credence. Truly he is the Prince of Fools.

U.S. ‘disturbed’ by Iranian leader’s criticism after deal:

DUBAI, (Reuters) – The United States said on Tuesday it was very disturbed by anti-U.S. hostility voiced by Iran’s top leader after a nuclear deal, as both countries’ top diplomats sought to calm opposition to the accord from political hardliners at home.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said a speech by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday vowing to defy American policies in the region despite a deal with world powers over Tehran’s nuclear program was “very troubling.”

“I don’t know how to interpret it at this point in time, except to take it at face value, that that’s his policy,” he said in the interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television.

“But I do know that often comments are made publicly and things can evolve that are different. If it is the policy, it’s very disturbing, it’s very troubling,” he added.

The man has just concluded a complete major treaty with the Iranians. He just ran to the U.N. so he could lift vitally important sanctions from Iran, giving them the green light for further aggression. He did this before Congress, as agreed, could have a say, and as if the Congressional right to ratify treaties, under the Constitution, were something that could be waved. Now, he’sdisturbed” that the hideous tyrannical regime with which he’s been negotiating for years is just what it appears: a lawless monster intent on the destruction of America, Israel, and any rival in the Middle East.

“If it is the policy, it’s very disturbing, it’s very troubling.” The Supreme Leader of an absolute theocratic dictatorship publicly announced this, to mass rallies, and Kerry says “If it is the policy.” He’s just given away the store at the U.N., and now, a few days later, he is very disturbed and troubled.

Absolutely amazing! This is for the Idiot Olympics. Kerry is in a class by himself.

Regards,

Jim

Too many here are missing the obvious. Kerry is perhaps a fool, but more likely a bad actor. Remember that he started his political career by lying about injuries in order to be discharged, by meeting treasonously with the north Vietnamese in Paris, by giving false, damning testimony in congress. He may be a stupid man, but there is no doubt that he dislikes America. His boss is an out and out socialist tool whose every move in office has been anti american

The surprise here is only that mr Kerry had expected a toning down of Iranian rhetoric. He knows their position. He’s working on their side, not our side.

We fail to admit this at our continued peril.

Thank you for the posted videos. Please everyone do not forget Neda. This is all so very depressing. This next item might be more appropriate for the prayer thread. Trigger warning, it’s very Christian, but I need something to make me hope that somebody, somewhere has the bigger picture in mind.

    Claire Berlinski, Ed.:

Matt Wood: Wait what is he saying? Is he saying that the Saudis need to be more proactive in heading off Iranian involvement in adjacent nations?

I read it as “Stop funding ISIS and we’ll take your concerns more seriously.”

    Possibly linked:

“Saudi Arabia has arrested 431 suspected members of the Isis extremist group, reportedly sabotaging planned attacks in the kingdom.

“The Saudi Interior Ministry said that the suspected jihadis had been arrested over the “past few weeks” as part of an anti-terror operation, and accused them of being involved in numerous deadly attacks…”

Can we all agree that our Sunni friends should stop funding ISIS, at least until we have many more ways to blow up the parades. Are there any kids that want nothing more than to go back home? Let’s talk about folks wanting to fly out of Turkey, and surrounding countries.

Dorothea – if they are funding ISIS they really are not friends of the West in any meaningful way, jmho.  As allies with a transactional relationship I think they needed to be pushed (by words and events) – as, perhaps, they were.

Z, I agree that we must ask the Sunnis if they cannot find room in their hearts to love Shia.

Also, I might have mentioned that I recently wore a “cartoon” criticizing radical Islam to my local grocery store. The ladies in niqabs seemed approachable, but the very tall lady in the burqa (eye mesh, for you goobers) with two very young sons, not so much.

That’s certainly one way of starting a conversation :-)  How did it go?

(Also: how approachable do you think you seemed to them?)

    For anyone still listening,

Not to underestimate the importance of making the acquaintance of Muslims at the grocery store nor second guessing the Saudis, however, something has come to my attention. Just two little words that are in the Iran deal.

OBAMA LIED: THERE ARE NO BALLISTIC MISSILE RESTRICTIONS IN IRAN DEAL

Iran is called upon not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology, until the date eight years after the JCPOA Adoption Day or until the date on which the IAEA submits a report confirming the Broader Conclusion, whichever is earlier.

Whoops. Just a little slip and ballistic missiles are OK too. Israel and the Saudis are already in range. Europe and then America come next.

A million laughs in this deal. The yuks just keep on coming.

    Regards,

    Jim
