Tell me what you would like to ban, and I will tell you who you are. It occurred to me that a book of the ten things that a hundred intellectuals would like to ban would be very revealing. —

Feeling rather judgemental today are we?
First, I would ban the word listicles…
Banning stuff. Let a thousand flowers bloom; let 999 wilt unpollinated.
Uh, isn’t this article a listicle?
Beat me to it.
You wouldn’t even ban a certain sock puppet, Frank?
We need to ban the people who want to ban banning.
Ban Joe?
Am I breathing?
Yes. I’m trying to reinforce the point that I wouldn’t actually ban the things I suggested banning. Since I’m obviously guilty of doing one thing thing I suggested banning, I’m heading off the people who watch reality TV on their iPhones as they go through the drive thru with vodka.
I believe we should all live in harmony and ban nothing.
Those pre-trailer commercials at movie theaters. I came for a movie, consarnit. Stop giving me advertisements that somehow make TV look good.
That is quite an image…and there probably are many of them.
“No Turn On Red” signs at four way intersections. Our city is notorious for them; my wife has learned to humor my regular tirades.
Kabuki Republicans promising to fight to the death to reverse President Obama’s [insert unconstitutional usurpation here].
That’s a pretty decent list.
I’d ban the drivers that think the car turning left has right-of-way over the opposite car going straight at a 4-way stop sign. As a codicil to that, drivers who have the right-of-way but sit there and wave other drivers through instead of taking it.
♫♪ Do you know the way to ban Jose?
It’s been so long I might go wrong and ban Jorge.
Do you know the way to ban Jose?
I’m going to find some peace of mind and ban Jose.♪♫
Are you playing that on a banjo?
A cappella, at the moment. Might have to hunt down a glockenspiel.
May I just say, this thread is bantastic.
Let us sing kumbaya and hold hands.
Oh, I see you are not a fan.
If someone says ban She, I’ll scream.
How about ban people who comment without directly responding to the post as written?
How about a benefit to help out the people who comment without directly responding to the post as written?
We could call it Band-Aid.
(Stop it. You knew it was only a matter of time.)
Thanks for sharing this. I feel your pain.
I would encourage you all to go back and focus on the purpose of Mike’s original post – the one man ban.
Casey, I am warning you. Next time we might have to …..
Ban She!
Mike,
What do you mean 10 THINGS? Why pick on one number? How about we ban Mike Things too while we are at it? Come on guy watch the attributive nouns, okay?
Eh, 10 Things works for me.
