Promoted from the Ricochet Member Feed by Editors Created with Sketch. Alan Dershowitz Reacts To Marilyn Mosby’s Charges

Did Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby overreach in quickly charging of the police officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray? Will a judge remove her from prosecuting the officers based on her additional politically-tinged activist comments at the end of her news conference?

Personally, I think Dershowitz will be proven right and the officers’ charges may be substantially diminished or they may even go free.

What do you think? And if you’re an attorney, is Ms. Mosby’s exuberance to convict and advocacy likely to backfire on her? Is her inexperience as a states attorney evident? How should she have conducted herself? Was the tone of her remarks too strident when it should have been more calm and measured?

Here’s the complete video of Mosby’s press conference for your reference:

You will recollect that for a very long time we had no “seat belts” – even in cars, much less in police vans. I have a hard time with negligent here.

BUT the FAR MORE IMPORTANT issue is that – there are no actual FACTS in evidence. We know nothing but speculation. For all we know, his neck wasn’t even broken.
