Contributor Post Created with Sketch. Ask Amelia: Cheap Beer, Naughty Twitter and Bad Grammar

AskAmelia3It’s Friday afternoon, which means it’s time for Amelia Hamilton to answer all your queries about cheap beer, libertarian adult stars, and microaggressions!

Dear Amelia

Bud Light, Miller Lite, or a rusty fork to the eye?

@OhioCoastie

Dear Coastie,

This is a tough one. Isn’t there some middle ground? Maybe a decent beer? How about a nice cider? Drink good beer, keep your eyesight. It’s just science.

Dear Amelia,

I’ve been followed on Twitter by a libertarian porn star. She seems quite nice (aside from the pornography) and I’m inclined to follow back. Should I? I don’t want to look sketchy. Like, even if I mute her so I don’t see her pics, I’d still be following a porn star.

Conflicted Tweeter

Dear Tweeter,

I say follow her back and mute her (if you have a girlfriend or wife, you might want to run this by her first) so you don’t end up with scandalous pictures in your timeline. It never hurts to have more voters on our side, and I would assume she has some followers who don’t tend to vote as we do. Libertarian porn star, we welcome you. Go forth and rain your libertarianism upon your followers.

Amelia,

Is proper grammar a microaggression?

Mitch Vortex

Dear Mitch,

Absolutely. Why would you want so to flaunt all that privilege? It’s just rude.

Rude.

I’d imagine a libertarian porn star would know how to put the free in free market.

To whom might a grammatical microaggression be directed?

    Mike LaRoche:Schaefer Light or turpentine?

For painting a model with oil-based paints, turpentine. Schaefer Light might be useful in stripping acrylic paint off a plastic model. Tough choice upon consideration. As for drinking either, I will stick to using them when building models.

Schaefer has a compelling brand promise: “Schaefer is the one beer to have when you’re having more than one.”

If one microagresses against the illiterate is one then an oppressor who needs to check his or – dare I say – her privilege or an illiterate oneself? Kurt Goedel might say he was not amused.

Beer drinking is for wimps, true conservatives drink bourbon, or if desperate whisky.

I remember learning on The Untouchables that you could lose your eyesight with bathtub gin, so there’s another option, which doubles in the program.

    Bourbon is whiskey.

Blasphemy, Bourbon is the nectar of the gods, perfected by the good ol boys in Kentucky, whiskey is an inferior product that a bourbon drinker can drink if desperate. All bourbons may be considered whiskey but not all whiskey qualifies as bourbon, for bourbon is whiskey perfected.

These gods and good ol boys you cite must surely have a sweet tooth. Entirely too syrupy for my taste.
