Technically speaking, hydraulic facturing, aka fraccing (or frac’ing) term used by the industry has been standard operating procedure for decades. The big difference is geostearable drilling developed off of Louisiana’s coast in the Gulf of Mexico, which can hit a bullseye a few miles away.
