Does the Kremlin Have Hillary’s E-mails?

shutterstock_166350926With Hillary Clinton set to hold a press conference today over the scandal regarding her State Department emails, I thought this might be a good time to call your attention to a piece of mine over at The Blaze, highlighting the very real prospect that Hillary’s communications may have fallen into Moscow’s hands. As I write there:

Putin’s Kremlin has one of the most sophisticated cyber-warfare systems the world has ever seen.

According to Smoking Gun (which broke the story in 2013), when [the Romanian hacker] Guccifer breached [Sidney] Blumenthal’s account, he discovered Clinton’s email address, hdr22@clintonemail.com. When Guccifer supplied Russia’s RT, an official Kremlin media agency, with the Blumenthal emails, it’s a distinct possibility that he supplied the Clinton email address as well.

If not, Kremlin cyber-security would have been keenly interested and could have used the Guccifer emails as guides to find the Clinton email address on its own. If either had happened, the Kremlin would have had Mrs. Clinton’s private email address since 2013 – an account, which apparently has no special security protections. If the Kremlin penetrated Clinton’s email account, it would have the most complete record of her Secretary of State correspondence outside of the Clinton inner circle.

If my concerns are correct, Mrs. Clinton placed the national security of the United States at risk in using a private email account for all her State Department business and has disqualified herself from running for president.

Surely there was a United States Government security system in place that made it illegal for the Secretary of State of the United States to use a private email address? Was Hillary Clinton above this, if there were one in place?

If Hillary Clinton had been working for a Bank or a large corporation, and not complying with their security systems, she would have been fired, at the very least. Doesn’t this apply to politicians?

The preponderance of evidence would suggest that they’ve had them since 2009.  The greatest element of anybody’s security online is obscurity: if nobody knows you’re there, you’re not going to be targeted.  Unfortunately, the domain name chosen (clintonemail.com) wasn’t exactly helpful in maintaining anonymity.

All it would have taken to raise the interest of even a half-asleep SIGINT operator would be for an address to show up well down in an email chain forwarded from somewhere in State to the Russians.  She could have simply been copied on an email that ended up getting forwarded to a Russian diplomat, and it would have been enough to turn the proverbial Eye of Sauron.

Probability of that isn’t quite 100%, but close enough for all except the most ignorant and loyal of defenders.  Which of course includes all of the established media.

Imagine the blackmail possibilities against a future President Clinton if the Russians have copies of raw emails pertaining to, say, the Benghazi attack or some other scandal.

The Clinton security is so good that the only thing that got by it was a blue dress with a stain on it.  I don’t know if we’ll ever learn about the failure of this system, at least during our lifetimes.

Just worth a mention re: not wanting to handle two devices – I have three email accounts on my phone.  AND VPN capability.  And there’s far more out there than that.  And it’s becoming known that she wasn’t utilizing any of those things.

Once again I have to ask: Just how stupid to these people think we are?  But then I also have to ask: Does it make any difference?  No, no.  Let me rephrase that: “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Tell Vlad that Hillary says that she can be more flexible after she’s been elected President.  Also, if she could have the pictures back of her and Huma – pretty please with sugar on top?

If there was a Compliance Ruling in place, shouldn’t Hillary Clinton be charged with criminal negligence, or something like that at the very least? I’m not a lawyer, but lawyers would know.

Surely anyone who has behaved as Hillary Clinton has done as Secretary of State should NEVER become President of the United States! If this remote possibility were to come true. all hope in The United States is lost.

Isn’t it time for legal restraints to be placed on the actions of politicians?

Are there any legal restraints on politicians? It wouldn’t appear that there are!

How anyone can look at the Clintons and with any respect, is beyond me! That blue dress says it all!

I’ve just found this full accounting of how Hillary’s team found the emails and decided which to pass on.

Here is Obama backpedaling on the subject of the emails.

When I tried to pick up the link to the Time account of Hillary deleting emails, my laptop seized up. :)

Does this throw doubts on the competence of the United States’ Intelligence Services? Don’t they monitor politicians?

We in Canada are having our own scandals due to unclear guidelines on the conduct of politicians. But only abused expense accounts, nothing like what Hillary has been up to.

Apparently there are other politicians also using private email accounts, apparently!

It really is beginning to look as if the American people are very stupid. Sorry to say that as a Canadian. And I’ve always had such a high opinion of Americans.

How much should politicians get away with? That same question is being asked in Canada. But our politicians are not as colourful as those of the States.

    J. Edgar Hoover has a reputation even I have heard about.

People who work for banks and large corporations who have compliance systems are trained to follow compliance under threat of being fired. Aren’t politicians?

In Canada, there is a big shake up going on, and it has many politicians shaking in their shoes.

Noting that the early take is that Hillary, the chief of staff to Bubba’s lechery, is the heir presumptive to Barry is the common shrift here. If that myth has any merit it speaks to a constituency for Hillary or the Clintons which are in orbit around some discordant ideas of what “public service” means.  What constitutes that constituency?  Media types, beltway specialists, and the fools along the coasts.

As an aside, I don’t believe that even the majority of Democrats will want this woman and her baggage put on display during a presidential run.  Her life is so disheveled that the socialist wing of the Democrat Party will be pleading with Elizabeth Warren, a true American Indian.

No, she knew.  And even if she didn’t, there are/were hundreds of “advisors” around her who knew, and certainly made her aware of the pitfalls, illegal acts and security violations.  There is no way on earth that a person in her position can claim ignorance – not that she won’t.  It was unbridled arrogance, combined with a knowledge that if she left any fingerprints on anything that she was doing – that she probably knew very well were illegal – would haunt her in her upcoming presidential bid.  So, like almost all crooks, it never entered her mind that she wouldn’t get away with it.

Something else – Lots of other people commit murders.  So my committing a murder isn’t a big deal, right?

No, Americans, as a general rule, aren’t that stupid.  But with the MSM providing the world with a particular view of humanity, it’s hard to see otherwise – unless, of course, you’re a Ricochet…  Rococh… Oh, what would be the singular form of “Ricochetti?”
