There is a lot of good advice here, but there is no way Republicans are going to avoid “giving a reason” for the press to behave any differently than it’s going to behave. The press doesn’t need to be given reasons. It can manufacture them as needed.
But on the good advice, I’d add that it’s silly to be talking non-stop about Hillary’s emails. It’s far from the only reason Hillary is bad for our country, and we shouldn’t stop talking about all the other reasons. One person in my Twitter timeline complained yesterday that Ben Carson took an opportunity to be talk about other issues when we should all be talking about Hillary’s emails. Sigh.
One problem is that we tend to obsess about one issue until the next outrage comes along, and then we switch to that one. Soon it’s as if the first one never happened. But we should still be talking about Hillary’s emails from the 1990s. We should keep talking about her advisor, Sandy Berger. Bring up these issues as asides, in passing, when lefts are least expecting them. Each time they think they’ve tamped down an issue, bring it up again. It destroys their confidence and shatters their nerves if done right.
If you have trouble with this, turn off the stupid television and leave it off. Forever. Don’t let it set your agenda.
Maybe it’s easier for me because I can’t stand the snot-headed intonations and cadences of modern TV news people, anyway. Hearing them talk is like fingernails on a chalkboard. If I hear those sounds, I flee the room. (And sometimes I take more drastic action than that.)
Trivial. I am amazed anyone regards this of significance.
The danger is never the thing itself (the facts). The danger is the fantasy liberals can construct around the reality… helped along by Republican fecklessness.
Now is not the time to be quiet — yes, be reticent about the email story, but not about the real story: the money. Follow the money. I’d throw every spotlight I can on the foreign money scandal … i.e., the Clinton Connection. It’s a far more serious crime than improper record-keeping, which really doesn’t bother people. But a story about a corrupt foreign money pipeline? That’s a political bombshell, but it also has the added benefit of being exactly what government is supposed to be in business for … to prevent corruption and to promote justice.
Wild speculation like arming Libyan rebels on the cheap and then having your ambassador killed trying to buy them back is probably too wacky. It’s not like there’s any evidence he was going to funnel those weapons through Turkey to Syrian rebels. It’s not like Clinton can be pinned down as part of the no rescue effort that Panetta and Obama were part of or that Hillary was part of the cover up. No evidence at all.
But these email issues and the foreign cash are actually being reported. That is a switch. Bet it doesn’t last and not because Ben Carson thinks this way or that way about gay marriage. It won’t last because the media doesn’t want it to last. If Nixon was a democrat his issues would be a mild footnote.

Insider crooks disgust people. She is a classic one and I, for one, would be in favor of someone claiming she was an alien if I could get some reporter to demand vivisection.
Docjay my Latin is worthless and weak but doesn’t vivisection mean live cutting? I wonder about the first part of that compound word, whether it could be applied to HILLARY! I have never believed in zombies or the undead before. But I wonder….

I love this approach.
And I thinks the plan of pressing on the broader issues subtly and constantly is quite effective. Yelling louder doesn’t always work except to make us look crazy and shift the focus.

I like the idea of applying subtle pressure here but not killing the golden goose by giving the media a distraction such as “mean Conservatives dog pile on Saint Hillary…”

While I agree with your suggestion, there are those who will see this as a sign that there is money to be made by soliciting the unsuspecting and the ridiculously intolerant for cash donations. No longer listed as a Republican, I won’t be the beneficiary of those solicitations but I can see them coming from here.
All issues are social issues. So no, you have to shut up about your favorite economic and foreign policies issues, too.
The Clinton’s venality and avarice are practically unbounded. It’s a coming issue about which they have no self-awareness.
Well, OK, maybe… but the Democrat Media Complex seems pretty capable of latching onto whatever it feels is necessary to obfuscate, distract, tar-and-feather from past, present and even future sources, regardless what conservatives, republicans or libertarians say or do. I only have to see my local newspaper, my local TV news and my Facebook account to know this. They are experts at creating mountains of raging controversies and outrage from a piece of rhetorical lint.

You don’t win by not hitting the other side. I don’t want to see us overreaching or overswinging but I think you are overstating the fear. One of the angles that I have tried to point out that I think we are missing is that this isn’t just any other government agency. This is The State Department. If we are to believe what we have been told she had been conducting the foreign policy of the United States of America out of the trunk of her car!
How many American Foreign Policies are there??? Obama’s version where he makes treaties without Congress. Mrs. Clinton’s private version that we will never be able to verify or review. This isn’t just Clinton lawlessness this is a massive insult to the United States Government and its Constitution.

We are still more than 18 months out from the election – best to keep some of our powder dry for when people are actually paying attention.
