Yes, Fred was awesome. And he got to meet Gary Johnson, so he was basically in libertarian heaven.

If I’m not mistaken, the one in the middle is a Ricochet tote bag.

BTW, Mollie, how about a Hemingway’s podcast? You can record it with Mark at the CPAC bar. That way you can expense the drinks to Long. The last one was so long ago I think Mark was complaining about running over the kids slip-n-slide with the mower on a hot DC summer afternoon. You can’t get us hooked and then turn the juice off.

We really need to get some Ricochet merchandise with Mollie Hemingway’s picture on it.

Who was the photographer? I think it was Joel Gehrke, of National Review. I feel bad that I don’t remember.

Because conservative ladies are hotter than Democrats and progressives. Maybe we could have a side-by-side comparison? Mr. Hill?

Before we met up, I was talking to this guy with a Jeb! sticker on his shirt. Betsy Woodruff had reported about buses bringing in Jeb supporters from K Street (which is sort of known as DC Lobbyist and Political Professional street) and I was curious as to what motivated these folks.

This super nice guy who ended up entertaining my children for like a half hour — letting them count to 100 in Latin and naming states and capitals and what not — told me that he was a huge Jeb fan. I asked why. He said, “I’m actually a Democrat!”

Good to know that all our heuristics about Jeb are confirmed.

Besides the shock of that response – and I am laughing, I wonder how is that an answer, I mean, from his perspective? Did he mean that he wanted to promote Jeb because he wanted the easy opponent? Or was it that he, as a Democrat, was won over by Bush’s centrist policies?

Democrats generally are really good with kids. Especially the ones who make it out of the womb.

In the way of what? A new and improved site? World domination?

I want to know which way We are going and why “more Hemingways podcasts” are impeding it.

It’s a two-fer. If Jeb proves to be as weak as most of us think he’ll be, he loses and the Democrats win. If, by some miracle, he wins, he still governs like a Democrat. It’s a win-win for the Dems.

So I’ve been friends with and worked with Mollie for a while now. I had two goals on Friday. First, was to meet David Boaz, who was signing free copies of his new book in the Cato booth in the vendor area. Second was to locate and hug Mollie Hemingway. The first was accomplished without difficulty. The second took longer but before I got a chance to hug Mollie, she hugged me.
