A few days ago, an article appeared in Pravda-on-the-Hudson reporting that pollsters had told the White House that if there is not a huge African-American turnout on the first Tuesday this November, the Democrats are cooked.
In the meantime, there have been leaks from the Ferguson, Missouri grand jury investigation. Darren Wilson is said to have testified that Michael Brown attacked him in his police car and went for his gun, that he fired at him twice at that time, and that, when he emptied his gun into Brown, the young man was charging at him on the street.
The investigation undertaken by the police after the event is said to have confirmed at least some of Wilson’s claims. There is evidence that he fired twice in the car, and Brown’s blood was splashed inside the vehicle.
The autopsy is said to confirm that, when Wilson emptied his pistol into Brown, the young man may not have had his arms in the air; and it is also said that there are seven or eight African-American witnesses who confirm his story.
In short, it looks as if the grand jury is about to issue a report, exonerating Wilson, and it looks as if that is the right call. Brown was certainly not the “gentle giant” who appeared in the early newspaper reports. He was a thug used to throwing his weight around; he had just robbed a convenience store; and he was hopped up on marijuana at the time he was killed. No one with any knowledge of these events would be surprised to learn that he had attacked a police officer.
In the meantime, of course, the NAACP in Ferguson and St. Louis and the local black politicians, seconded by radicals who have traveled to St. Louis from far afield, have been hyping racial tensions in Missouri.
We could be in for riots — especially if Barack Obama and his henchman Eric Holder decide to roll the dice. Early on, they played this event for everything it was worth politically — in much the same way that they played George Zimmerman’s shooting of Trayvon Martin. I would not be surprised if, in the next few days, they roll the racial dice again. After all, Barack Obama is the African-American answer to George Wallace.
But, of course, rolling those dice could backfire. People who have been tricked by you in the past get really, really angry when you try to trick them again, and Barack Obama has pulled stunts of this sort time and again.
