Which is why Republican candidates need to realize that the Left (er, Dems) aren’t playing by Marquis of Queensbury rules. It’s a fists, boots and all (literally when you add in the union thugs) street fight.
Republicans can say “lower corporate tax rates” “stimulate entrepreneurship” and “vote for me, I’m not as stinky as the other guy” 100,000 times a day and it isn’t going to work. Elections are going to go to the candidate who’s willing to fight for it.
A good example is Illinois 10 where Darlene Senger is taking on Bill Foster. Foster is vulnerable on many points, Senger isn’t going after him on any of them (except maybe his vote for Obamacare). Her website is a platitudinous collection of “meh” Which is a shame because she’s been a good state rep, and would be an infinitely better congressperson than Foster. Also in Illinois Bruce Rauner is at least taking on Pat Quinn(ochio) on Quinn’s 66% hike in the state income tax but is otherwise also vacuous.
Will the stupid party wise up? I wouldn’t bet a lunch on it much as I wish it would.
Suppose you are a prostitute, and suppose you are Charlie Crist. But I repeat myself.
I have lived in Florida for most of my life. The thought of spineless Charlie Crist implementing the things you mention makes me sick. He will destroy what used to be a great place to live. This state has gone from Red to Purple and is headed towards Blue, mostly because of transplants from NY/NJ and immigrants from Puerto Rico and socialist regimes in South America. It is ironic because those immigrants flee from places like Venezuela yet they arrive here and do not realize that Democrats like Crist and Obama are following the same destructive roadmap that men like Hugo Chavez used. If Republicans don’t make a stand in Florida (whether they like Rick Scott or not) I may as well start looking for real estate in Texas.
Precisely what happened to New Hampshire. Blue voters flee high taxes, and then keep voting for them anyway.
ARGGGHH!
