Beautiful writing, Dave, as usual. Thank you for sharing. And thank YOU for your service.
Thank you, Dave. I needed that this morning more than you’ll ever know.
Dave, and all Ricochet friends, may the Almighty bless you and keep you. John 3: 16.
Prayers for you, Dave.
I always try to start my mornings right, and this was the first essay of the day. Thank you, Dave.
I fight everyday to keep from falling into that pit of pessimism.
Roll on highway, Roll on along….
Happy Easter to you and yours, Dave. May the Creator bless you with sunrises aplenty and present you with soft twilights of spring.
As always, you are able to stir such emotion with your writing. The passion you write with shines through. Thank you for reminding us that circumstances are nothing without perspective. I cherish the pieces you write, and am constantly reminded of how blessed I am to have you as a Father.
The honor is mine, Son. You make me proud every day.
May you have a blessed Easter Dave, and many, many more.
Many thanks Dave, from someone else who needed this today. Happy Easter to you and your family!
Thank you for using your gift of writing to share this essay. Happy Easter!
I had a great treat last night as I left the gym. My son flew back from college for Easter and surprised me as I was walking out. He is off to Army Basic Training at Ft Benning in 3 weeks. Our pre-dinner family prayer focused on Jesus last full day on this earth and how much love He gave us all.
Thank you, Dave. You really are a poet.
This is why I missed you so.
Stay safe.
Thank you kindly, Dave. Your essay strikes to the heart the clear essence of Christ’s sacrifice for us. May you be blessed this Easter.
Thank you Dave, for the beautiful imagery and the perspective. Be safe.
Happy Easter to you, my friend!
Hugs to you, Dave.
I’m all ears, Dave! (Never mind that snakes don’t have ears.)
Our lives are such peculiar bundles of wounds and blessings that it can be hard to measure them reasonably. But when I measure reasonably, I know that I, too, am blessed beyond what I had any reason to expect.
A very blessed Good Friday to you!
Must be the time of the year for it – I, too, have reflected on my blessings this Holy Week. Yeah, life can be a grind sometimes, doubly so when dealing with folks down the IQ scale — but both Dave and I are blessed far beyond what we deserve.
Thank you once again Dave for another beautiful message.
Have a blessed Easter!
I can’t wait to hear more about the “wonderful woman”.
What a beautiful piece to read before Easter. I live in a military town and your story about the Gold Star and Purple Heart touched me. I see too many all over town. Thank you for sharing your wonderful writing. Your post reminds me of how my daughter writes, expressing a heart of love with your words. God Bless You. Have a lovely Easter with your family.
Dave –
Like MFR, I am delighted to hear that you have the love of a good woman. Priceless joy.
Dave, what a blessing! Hoping your Easter Season will be filled with healing, joy, and peace! Prayers ongoing…
