The Real Victims

I could continue my search for a topic that will elevate this site and improve my standing with the Ancient of Days, eschewing the pursuit of outrage porn to pop the national sphygmomanometer in a blood pressure crescendo and rally the hawks and river-to-the-sea chanters and MAGA to converge on my position in mindless rage. But then I ran into this on Gateway Pundit:

Jake Tapper recently tried to cover for MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough’s consistent gaslighting that Joe Biden was fit for office by implying that he, along with other media members, were ‘targeted victims’ of Biden.

Somehow, I got through the whole assassination attempts, and ludicrous lawfare (34 felonies convicted the judge and prosecutor), SWATings against my neighbors, and the federal surveillance of my church; the rise of Adam Schiff and the Tommy Thompson farce; then there was the word salad wino; Ukraine is evacuating civilians from Sumy while the usual CIA propaganda channels report the collapse of Russia and the Russian army; and yet I never noticed—completely overlooked—the great tragedy that played out for five years before the eyes of the nation.

The real “victims” were Jake Tapper and Joe Scarborough. Because, with their superhuman “journalist” powers, they couldn’t see through the most transparent White House ever (as they told us, again, and again, and again), and therefore were unable to notice what viewers at home picked up on in the summer of 2020. There is a reason these are the people that I check on to find out what today’s blatant, mindless lie for universal dissemination is. There is a reason why I am immune to the sort that rail against my putting “journalist” in quotes when I speak of such media personalities.

Jake and Joe: the victims. Victimhood is what all of the best “journalists” are wearing this season. Perhaps Whoopi will start a GoFundMe for their benefit. Or they could do something on FansOnly.

I think your original thought for a “journey” would have been more palatable than the pathetic assumption that Joe and Jake were victims. Please.

I’ll work on it. But there is this problem of, when they award me the Pulitzer Prize, I will have to purchase a mantle for it. It pays to think ahead on these things. And I was going to warn that Lindsey Graham wants to pass a disastrous sanctions bill that will essentially embargo anyone who ever buys a toothpick from Russia, an idea that Trump is backing away from after India and many other significant players voiced visceral hostility to the idea. But that bill will never pass this House, it merely illustrates the destructiveness of the hawks’ obsession with Ukraine and Russia. And Jake and Joe are just so ripe for public ridicule.

That’s what Trump did in his first term, which is why Putin was moribund then, but FJB made war on hydrocarbons, bringing the American economy into severe pain and empowering Putin, via skyrocketing hydrocarbon prices, to build the modern war machine that is now advancing on the Sumy region of Ukraine. (And European industry is livid that cheap Russian hydrocarbons are blocked over a little thing like the invasion of a Salvic country by a Salvic country. The outrage porn is strictly to assure that US dollars remain engaged in NATO and Europe.) FJB did such a good job wrecking domestic hydrocarbon production that the recovery curve extends past Trump’s current term. And Trump is not pressing that issue because the Saudis and others also suffered from the Trump low hydrocarbon prices. FJB was told to support the war in Ukraine because NATO would bleed the Putin economy dry and allow NATO to effect regime change in Russia and cut it up into little pieces and bam! Easy victory. Like Korea and Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan and Iraq and Libya and Syria and I’m missing some, but you get the idea. There is a reason that Middle Eastern immigrants went for Trump when he talked passionately on how making peace was a core objective. The Russian economic and military collapse has been three months away for three years now according to the misnomered intelligence community and their salvishly devoted propaganda outlets and their un-housebroken pet Zelensky, actual travelers to Russia find economic flourishing everywhere they look. No tent cities. Clean streets! No human waste on the sidewalks. No beggars in the streets. No street crime. No arson. No looting. Busy shops. Unlocked shelves. Putin is clearly way better at this part than, say, Gavin Newsom. In what the cowardly fools (FJB, Starmer, Macron, etc.) conducted as a secret NATO war on Russia, commanded from Wiesbaden (according to the NYT) Russia is clearly coming out of it better than California so far.

But none of this can be reported by Joe and Jake because they haven’t constructed a narrative around it where they are the victims.

Vladimi didn’t build a damn thing. He went to war with the army he had, which was equipped primarily with Soviet kit. Antiquated Soviet kit. Modernized with off the shelf Western gear. They had a handful of new T-14 Armata tanks. One of them seized up in Red Square a few years before the war. It didn’t just break down; the transmission immobilized all 55 tons of it until a transporter could haul it out of there. John McCain had it right for once – Russia is a gas station with nuclear weapons.

First, Sisyphus, Whoopi on FansOnly? Excuse me while I toss a half dozen Pepto Bismol tablets down my throat. Second, are you surprised that journalists are cowardly and unable to take responsibility for their behavior? I am not. But I am disgusted by Tapper’s gall in attempting to profit from his complete failure as a professional journalist. I also recoil from obvious liars. Jake Tapper is that as well.

I hear a lot of reports that don’t get down to the brass tacks or have fuzz around the edges, so I asked Grok for a clear rundown:

Below is a list of new or significantly upgraded weapons systems Russia has reportedly used or deployed since 2020, based on available information from web sources and posts on X. The focus is on systems confirmed or claimed to have been used in combat (notably in Ukraine) or officially introduced into service. I’ve included deployment details where possible and noted uncertainties, as some claims may involve propaganda or unverified reports. Systems are organized by category for clarity.Missile Systems

    1. Kh-47M2 Kinzhal Hypersonic Missile
      • Type: Air-launched ballistic missile (hypersonic, dual-capable: nuclear or conventional).
      • Description: A modified Iskander missile launched from MiG-31K or Tu-22M3 aircraft, with a range of 2,000–3,000 km and speeds exceeding Mach 5.
      • Usage: Deployed since 2018 but used in Ukraine since 2022, primarily for high-value targets. Claims of its use were initially unclear due to minimal impact, but confirmed in strikes. Ukrainian forces claimed to have downed one in 2023 using a Patriot system, though Russia disputed this, suggesting the debris was from a BETAB-500ShP bomb.

      • Source:

    Notes and Caveats

    • Verification Challenges: Some systems (e.g., Oreshnik, Zircon) have limited independent confirmation of use, with Russian claims potentially exaggerated for propaganda. Ukrainian and Western reports occasionally contradict Russian assertions (e.g., Kinzhal interception).
    • Western Components: Many Russian systems, including Kinzhal and Kh-101, rely on Western electronics, raising questions about sustainability under sanctions.,
    • Nuclear Capabilities: Several systems (Kinzhal, Avangard, Su-57, Su-34) are dual-capable, but no nuclear use has been reported in Ukraine. Russia’s nuclear rhetoric has intensified since 2022.,
    • Production Surge: Russia has significantly increased missile and drone production since 2022, despite sanctions, partly due to sourcing from allies like Iran and North Korea.

This list covers the most prominent systems based on available data. If you need deeper analysis on any specific system or additional categories (e.g., drones, artillery), let me know!

Those WWII-era hypersonic missiles are holding up well.

And as an Irish brawler to my core, my gut response to obvious, galling liars is to heap derision on them. With regard to the Whoopi reference, you have my deepest apologies, I completely understand, I could doubtless benefit from the services of a good editor but the needs of the greater Joe/Jack ecosphere (ickysphere?) have driven the rates for editor hours through the roof. I am adding the Whoopi thing to my list for confession. Terrifying image, on reflection.

It didn’t just break down; the transmission immobilized all 55 tons of it until a transporter could haul it out of there. John McCain had it right for once – Russia is a gas station with nuclear weapons.

The way to do it is to bring the price of oil and gas down so low that Vladimir is hanging out on Red Square with a cardboard sign saying “Will Thug For Food.”

I can’t personally vouch for all of them, but I have heard credible reports of the Oreshnik and Kinzhal. The Oreshnik attack on Dnipro made a bit of a splash and a lot of discussion of how many more do they have and what is their production rate. They are firmly reported to be in production. What is not covered here but is very pertinent to the issue is the massive increase in the kinds and numbers of Russian drones. Last year, there were several stories about Ukrainian dominance in the drone race with locally designed and built drone system. Reports of Russian numeric advantages of an estimated 4:1 for drones deployed on a daily basis and reports of a new AI drone that operates and attacks up to 100 km from its launch point with no external control mechanism and hunter-killer drones that are dedicated to destroying enemy drones in the vicinity.

This is an area where the intelligence community reports non-existent stuff and misses real stuff because of all the spoofing by both sides. Objective WWII Orders of Battle were only fully possible using the records of both sides after the war. Everything I do is from public sources, and if I were currently working in a secure environment or in regular contact with someone who was, I would not include Ricochet in my views on this stuff.

The “Russia is broke” crowd also need to explain how the West has all but run out of artillery shells while Russia is going strong. The Russia is broke narrative is part of a strategy to get politicians to escalate their support for “one last vote.” After some number of years and lost ground, even politicians can catch on. There are NATO partners that want the US engaged in a land war in Europe to cover for the fact that they’ve let their own militaries decay to the point of being role players at best. And they scoff at any fears of a nuclear exchange. A past president of Lithuania recently shared in public that nuclear missiles are outdated technology and not a worry at all.

After months of pressuring his military, Starmer recently and proudly proclaimed that the UK could field 44,000 men at arms in 48 hours if called to do so. That is not nothing, and might be true. In WWII, the UK was able to deploy 10 divisions numbering almost 400,000 men in the British Expeditionary Force to France. With a smaller population and more primitive technology. What this shows is that Starmer and Europe do not think that Russia is a threat they must prepare against. At least not as long as GI Joe is their hapless meat shield.

I have not seen it use RT. In this case it used TASS for the SU-57 but nothing else. It continues to make an amusing amount of use of Wikipedia, the BBC, and NPR, so we have our scattering of intelligence community propaganda.

I think he’ll be fine if he makes money from this, but the primary goal is to rescue a tattered reputation.

He said on Megyn Kelly’s podcast that he views his performance with “humility.” The word is shame,” Jake.

And I will continue to argue that his (and other “journalists'”) reputation are beyond rescue.

If he was “the victim” then he is a lousy journalist, as the OP suggests. So there is no reason to believe anything else he ever said or says in the present or future.

Or he was in on the scam, in which case there is again no reason to believe anything else he ever said or says in the present or future.

And the same for all those other “journalists” who went along with the Biden administration and family.

I keep getting challenged by a bunch of lefty friends because I don’t believe the common / standard / “mainstream” media that they consume. So it’s nice to have a big fat juicy example of why no one should believe them.

The media is pivoting from covering for Joe Biden to covering for their covering.   They are all wicked statist hacks.

I could do a post on the topic of my comment here but it is all part are the same drama President Trump has given us. I’ve spoken numerous times of my admiration for the new facts that Trump revealed in his first term. But that was mainly related to the deceptiveness of the two major political parties and the fact that the executive power was wielded by the State Department/CIA complex.

Now we are having revealed the corruption infesting the federal and state judicial systems. We saw a sample during the four years of lawfare attacks while Biden was in office, I thought that was mainly a bunch of lawyers and a few corrupt judges and AG’s, but now we are seeing just how extensive this anti-Constitutional corruption is.

    No wonder America was rotting.

They are poisonous serpents from the gaping maw of perdition.  I pray that they, to a man, repent and receive the grace to publicly confess their every foul crime. Life is short, eternity is forever.

I keep getting challenged by a bunch of lefty friends because I don’t believe the common / standard / “mainstream” media that they consume. So it’s nice to have a big fat juicy example of why no one should believe them.

Build up a repertoire. Walk them through the entire saga, like a troubadour of old. The pee-pee tape. Russian collusion. Alfa Bank. Very fine people. Trashing the troops. Jussie Smollett. Mostly peaceful protests. Rittenhouse. The NASCAR noose. The (racist conspiracy!) origins of the WuFlu. Trump told us to drink bleach. Ivermectin is horse paste. Hunter’s laptop is Russian disinformation. This is The Best Biden Ever! He had a cold. Kamala is inevitable. Kamala leads in Iowa by 11 (or was it 13?).

You can get fifteen minutes out of this. Twenty if you strum a lute. Definitely bring the lute though. Chicks dig the lute.

Finish up with a modification of Bogie’s line to Mary Astor in The Maltese Falcon: “The MSM hasn’t played straight with us for fifteen minutes at a stretch since 2015.”

But other than that, they’re completely trustworthy.
