Musk / Tesla = Nazi?

I often miss background information that explain cultural phenomena.

This might be the case with the “Elon Musk is Nazi” and its derivative “Tesla cars are Nazi” ideas that seem to permeate large segments of American society.

So perhaps the Ricochetti can explain this to me.

Where did the association of Elon Musk and Nazis come from? What is the basis? What did Elon Musk do (or is he doing) that represents Nazi philosophy or practice?

Is it because he grew up in South Africa? And apartheid is supposedly just like Naziism?

Or is it based on the assumption that making government operations more efficient (DOGE) is akin to creating the Third Reich? If so, how?

The simplistic (but impolite) answer is that leftists don’t engage in rational thought, and that “Nazi” is just the universal term of hate to direct toward anyone you don’t like, now that “racist” has lost its sting.

But perhaps I missed something.

What makes Mr. Musk a Nazi?

Help me understand.

This goes back to Germany in the 1920’s, when the Communist party and Nazi party were battling for political control. To Communists, anyone that opposes Communism is a Nazi. One of the direct action groups of the Communists is the Anti-FA terrorist. Communists and Marxists dominate the discourse on America’s Left. The Marxists folks call everyone a racist, transphobe, misogynist,… or whatever divisive term they have handy.

Communists created the fiction that fascists were ultra-right. Fascists were just not as far left as the communists. Its leftism is even in the name, folks. How is the National Socialist German Workers Party far right?

Not quite the same but it reminds of the times when if the communists  did something “icky” like massacre protestors the liberals would be label them  conservative hard-liners.

Easily the best example of the hard Left being trained seals who have been cult-like programmed to turn on a dime to hate and demonize an individual who only a few years ago was an Eco-savior in the Left’s quest to rid the world of fossil fuels and save the planet Earth.

Now Musk is worse than Hitler and his most ubiquitous of electric cars must be destroyed ….. and that whole saving the planet Earth thing, that is so yesterdays Lefty talking point … all because Trump!

We don’t have enough nuclear or renewable power for this to work even if people were patient enough to charge up batteries all the time. Furthermore, I’m highly doubtful that making and throwing away electric cars is going to net out compared to internal combustion.

And meanwhile you’ve got some people selling their Teslas and proudly buying Volkswagens, a company which actually was founded by Nazis.

    You mean this?

    LOL.

Maybe with “Milano” being Italian, she’s okay with Mussolini.

    Agreed …..

A couple more not well thought out unintended consequences to all electric fleet are:

    • both the Feds and most states rely on gasoline and diesel fuel tax revenues.
    • there is a well established used vehicle market which will (severely?) disrupted when used electrics go into the used market with the very expensive battery needing replacement.

It may not be much of a disruption if people just don’t buy them.

Also fits the “Trump is Nazi” concept. President Trump seems quite fond of his Jewish son-in-law Jared Kushner and converted-to-Judaism daughter Ivanka and their raised-in-Judaism children.

So far, the only concrete evidence identified here for the “Musk is Nazi” thesis is one arm and hand gesture in one speech. But, since as has also been pointed out, similar arm and hand gestures have been given by many Democrat Party politicians and officials without a similar “Nazi” charge, the arm and hand gesture can’t be the basis for the “Musk is Nazi” thesis.

Which leaves me in the unpleasant position that the most likely explanation is that “anyone we don’t like is ‘Nazi.'”

Which conclusion I had been hoping to avoid because I keep trying not to believe that leftists are that hateful, bigoted, and free of logical thought.

    How depressing.

This is exactly my experience with my brother-in-law. Leads a very conservative lifestyle. Practical helpful job even though he has a PhD. He literally cannot explain public policy or debate it and he gets very worked up on everything. He just can’t explain anything. If he can’t turn it into a scandal, it goes nowhere. They just love government force, and they think it should work and we need more of it.

This is from Michael Brendan Dougherty.

The fundamental way they think is, if everybody isn’t equal, it’s fascist.

I don’t know what they thought like 40 years ago.

They like government force, and if things aren’t working, i.e. everybody isn’t getting equal,  we need more government force.

Inflation is stupid. It doesn’t work and it makes everything worse. It gives the Democrats an excuse to deploy more government force.

Global warming is the universal communist bludgeoning tool.

The left calls any forceful executive action they don’t like fascism even if it’s perfectly legal and arrived at through fair elections and the like.  Nazis are the fascists the leftists are familiar with, so naturally Trump and Musk are called Nazis.
