Tim Walz is the Real “DEI”

Gov. Tim Walz recently told assembled Democratic loyalists that the election was lost because Democrats were insufficiently proud and open about DEI, and thus let the GOP define the issue. Aside from the delusional notions that a more explicitly woke message would have worked and that Democrats are helpless against GOP efforts to shape issues despite Democrats’ overwhelming support from the news media, Hollywood, Big Law, the deep state, universities… there is the striking, frightening possibility that Democrats have no Plan B. And who better to fill a cognitive and moral vacuum than a bolus of nonsense and dishonesty like Walz?

Perhaps he can recapture the initiative in the DEI message battle by personifying a redefinition: Dishonesty, Ego and Incompetence.

Because this is America, where no political party wins forever, it would be nice to think that the current out party was regrouping along saner, more constructive lines. Apparently not.

I would like to gloat a bit longer about Walz’s contribution to defeat in 2024, but the sobering reality is that this glaringly bad governor was not only re-elected but selected as a VP nominee. Nationwide, no matter how nakedly, unrepentantly, destructively stupid the policies, performance and ideology of an openly corrupt Democratic Party, at least 45-49% of Americans will continue to support it.

A major part of the problem is that Republican voters judge their government’s actions (including GOP programs and actions) on the basis of relative success or failure. The controlling faction of the Democrats judges on the basis of the purity and enlightenment of intentions, so by definition, there can be no accountability for failure; therefore, no guilt for COVID fascism, no remorse for abuse of power, media lies, or the spectacularly corrupt spending uncovered by DOGE.

It is not enough to win elections in the immediate term. America will never be more than one election away from losing our national soul and identity unless and until voters start telling the likes of Tim Walz to get the hell off the stage and demanding a very different Democratic Party.

    That, and other issues.

Okay, I can see trying to emphasize you’re bona fides as a Real Man with a little hunting. I can even imagine being confused by the loading procedure for a gun that I’ve never seen, let alone loaded, before. What has me flummoxed is why the hell you let that footage loose on the internet.

Go away, Timmy. You actually managed to make Kamala Harris look even worse.

Unfortunately Republican candidates never call’m out on it.

I don’t know Minnesota politics; was anybody running against Walz?  And if they were, did they hold him responsible for the Floyd/BLM riots?

After every loss, the losing party does a direction check, since the past direction was not good enough and they are without a natural message leader.   In 2025 there are 2 factions that have emerged among the Dems to offer a direction.  One part once more Work [Woke] and more DEI and the other part wants economics issues.   This is not a substantive battle, just a fight over whether communism or Marxism is better tool to achieve power.  Bernie Sanders and Ezra Klein are pushing the “abundance” route.  Walz and the LGBTQ+ folks want the Marxist route.   I do not think the Commies will be able to suppress the violent Marxists they have empowered.

I don’t think they are even close to valuing “Work”. There is the continuing desire to pile on requirements on employers but they also hate mines, wells, factories, construction, or any other activity requiring a lot of labor. DOGE, Trump and a GOP Congress attacking spending and the massive hustles that COVID suppedly justified (or provided cover for) is a real setback because the “Green New Deal” job creation was a lie. Transferring millions to dependency was real goal and that experiment was the prototype.

The old left and the big unions at least knew where jobs came from.

    I think he meant “woke.”

And “once” was supposed to be “wants.”

Tim Walz was the ultimate DEI candidate.  VP Harris needed a straight, Midwestern, military veteran, macho, white male who was dumber than herself.  So Gov. Walz ticked the right boxes to balance out her gender and ethnicity and West Coast bias.

As a Minnesotan, I am embarrassed by our Governor.  I used to think Gov. Rudy Perpich (Gov. Goofy) was an embarrassment, his legacy actually looks good today.  Then of course we had Gov. Ventura who wasn’t all that bad.  Gov. Dayton was feckless but not an embarrassment.

The media propels Gov. Walz’s boat.  GOP nominees who ran against him were actually quite good.  But the media were a stream of negatives for anyone with a “R” after their name.  In the last election of course the abortion issue got played masterfully by the Democrats.  We’ll see if it is as much of an issue.  Right now the media drumbeat is all critical of Trump so it is an uphill battle right from opening gate.

Trump seems to have very high popularity nationally, but as for Minnesota, we’ll see.

Some Democrats seem to be living the joke:  If Tim Walz is the answer then it must have been a really stupid question.

Brian Setzer was there for a while, but I don’t know how many people know that or remember him now.

A previous mention of Lileks possibly running for governor, made me wonder, why would someone hate him so much as to wish him that fate?

Mr. Lindell is a fine man.  He does NOT have the skill set to be a state governor.  He already has enough problems in his life with lawsuits.

Oh, imagine the ads!   Minnesotans will sleep well with Mike Lindell.  He’ll clean up government corruption, and find out if it’s machine warshable.
