Two Michael Moore Quotes of the Day
“Who’s really being removed by ICE tonight?” Moore asked. “The child who would’ve discovered the cure for cancer in 2046? The 9th grade nerd who would’ve stopped that asteroid that’s gonna hit us in 2032? Do we care?”
“For every time I have heard a negative word or blatant hatred spewed toward those who came from afar, I have felt that I should pause, get down on one knee, and thank all of those who gave up their lives elsewhere to come here and be with us.”
Since Roe v. Wade there have been over 60 million abortions in the US. One has to wonder if Mr. Moore’s concerns over migration, meteors, cancer cures, and 9th-grade nerds extend to those in the womb.
The generation alphabet name game since Roe v. Wade, X, Z, as well as Millennials all have one thing in common. I call all of them survivors.

The left doesn’t have a cohesive ideology that makes any sense.
Moron.
People like Moore challenge opposition to abortion . . .
What about the illegal alien that pushed some kid that would have cured cancer in front of a train? The What-If game has endless possibilities. What about the kid that would have stopped WWIII had Michael Moore not eaten so much food?
It has a semi-cohesive hierarchy though and abortion is on the highest pedestal.
To them aborted kids are all unwanted who will contribute nothing to society and be a burden to us all.
I agree with them. The children that are most likely to be aborted are the children of single mothers who already have a kid. It’s unlikely they will turn out well and they probably have unappealing DNA as well. The conservative talking point that if these fetuses grew up they would cure cancer belies belief.
But what’s interesting is why leftists believe in two things that are contradictory. Why would illegal immigrants will go from strength to strength whereas the underclass fetuses will never succeed?
We’ve had many successful people who have grown up under terrible circumstances. Louis Armstrong and Richard Pryor come to mind. I would agree, these babies on average turn out to be a burden and not a great ROI. The pro-life side often doesn’t acknowledge this but I think it is valid. To me it doesn’t matter. I would rather have somebody who is problematic in our society rather than aborting that person. It’s a trade off I’m willing to make.
Very fair. I am irked by some on the right that pretend ending abortion is going to be a free lunch without any sacrifice. I can’t stand the free lunch fallacy in any form and I respect folks who reject it.
It is what passes for logical argument on the left: Whatever the net benefits of the policy you oppose, whatever the harms it reduces or eliminates, no matter the moral, legal or practical reasons for the policy, simply imagine a sympathetic victim of the policy and call its proponents heartless and demand a reversal.
That hypothetical illegal kid (instead of the legal, naturalized Asian kid) discovering a cancer cure is a few billion times less likely than just adding another member to MS-13 or the Westside Locos. But math is racist and sexist.
As Sowell teaches us, there are no solutions only tradeoffs so virtually every good policy still has an adverse effect on some. Think of the children of grifters who may have to go to public school because of DOGE.
Wait a minute. Didn’t Joe Biden already cure cancer? That was one of his campaign promises from 2020.
The theory is that illegal immigrants have proved their mettle by taking the risks that are involved when immigrating illegally.
Back when they had to dodge Castro’s gunboats to get here there was some merit to the idea. Those days are gone.
There is some consistency on the left. Margaret Sanger, Joseph Goebbels, the Rockefellers and other right-thinking members of the old Eugenics League believed that impoverished non-Anglo Saxon races should be encouraged not to reproduce. This has led to billions spent for contraception, anti-natalist brochures, sterilizations and abortions in the Third World and to the extent possible in the US all driven by the overt racism and lunacy of the Population Bomb groupthink. That is a major component of the ideological legacy of the American elite. Performative sympathy for the minority children who survive while striving to prevent or kill any more is who they are.
According to my googling. Thirty percent of fetuses that are aborted are black in America even though black child bearing women are about 14 percent of the population. It varies year by year of course.
DC was the first jurisdiction in which abortions exceeded live births in a calendar year. Apparently it was the main form of birth control for many. A former colleague sued a practitioner for a wrongful death for butchery and zero post-procedure care. He reportedly rarely changed the paper on the treatment beds in a mass production operation. Planned Parenthood has always fought regulation and inspection of the kind that applies to every doctor, dentist or chiropractic clinic. Standards threaten the right to choose.
I’ll take the compliment. Moore is telling us America is the only place great things are possible!
That’s what I was thinking.
“Wait, Moore, are You saying this can’t be accomplished in Mexico? That Mexico is such a craphole that Their Citizens could / would never succeed at such endeavors?”
Who’s the racist now?
Edit: Moore, are you admitting Mexican culture is inferior to America’s?
The grounding of true virtue is the love of being in general.
Which is what Moore does, which challenges opposition to abortion . . .
One could make the argument that Michael Moore freely chose to use his (pretty impressive) artistic talents for self-destructive ends. Aborted fetuses didn’t get a choice.
And so now the countries with the highest birth rates AND that are migrating the most to the West are from those countries that did not tolerate Western activists and governments operating in their borders. ie Muslim countries.
He sure is taking his sweet time on that whole self-destruction thing.
I think his horrible physical appearance is related to his art. His entire thing is about how horrible America is. He’s never produced anything praises beauty or G-d or family or the human desire to succeed to anything like that.
That trailer park intellectual shtick was just annoying. Pretending that faculty room leftism was actually some natural emanation from the common man was always tiresome.
Can you explicate that statement. I personally find the world offensive and I disagree with Genesis.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. ( Genesis 1:31 King James).
I would say the grounding of true virtue is the love of what is good. But I find what is good to be generally against the world.
Again, it almost makes one wish Moore was an aborted fetus . . .
Which reminds me of an Ann Coulter quote:
“If the death penalty is not a deterrent, then how come Michael Moore is still alive and I’m not on death row?”
Prison, not the death penalty, is enough to keep most people from killing. Maybe not Ann Coulter, but probably most people.
A wider version goes like “The only reason some people are alive is because murder is illegal.”
