Post Election Withdrawal

I can see it now: when it’s all truly over (which could be days or weeks from now), what will we rant, complain and protest about? The Progressives have been in our sights for so long that I can’t even imagine a day of not targeting them for their lies and misrepresentations. Every day my husband has rolled his eyes and clucked his tongue about their deceptions, their commitment to deceive the populace. Their hatefulness has been legion, destroying any hope for balance or fairness. I’ve been steeling myself for months to protect myself from their onslaughts and greed. Their determination to take out Donald Trump (perhaps in more ways than one) is despicable and disgusting.

But I’m worn out.

Preparing myself for their next attack has been exhausting. I’m determined to get back to a life of sanity and normalcy. I am ready to breathe freely again. I’m getting ready to invest my energy in making my shopping lists, writing about ordinary things like orchids blooming and an afternoon fall shower. I want to take my morning walks and simply enjoy the fall colors (even in Florida), getting my dog fixes, and smiling, and waving with genuine joy at the walkers and riders (of bikes and cars) for the awakening day.

It’s true: I am counting on Donald Trump to win the Presidency. I also know that somehow this country will not only survive, but thrive.

And I will continue to celebrate its founding values and the potential of the days ahead.

What a great country we live in.

I tend to be remarkably resourceful with such things…

    You and me both.

I want to be able to watch football without the annoying political ads. Even the most annoying pre-Thanksgiving Christmas ads are better than political advertising.

The number one takeaway from the ads is this: Don’t vote for the black-and-white candidate. The lack of chroma seems to be America’s number one indicator of shadiness.

I for one will be refocusing my energy on ridding TV of insurance and drug ads.  I do believe if we got rid of those, we could go back to 4 national channels with a couple of local access (depending on your location).

When Trump does his imitation of Biden-Harris there will be plenty to complain about.

Welp, if he follows previous tactics, McConnell will have a leadership vote quickly after the election. Don’t want to, but ready to rant about him.

In the second Trump presidency, a world of suddenly feasible federal reforms will cascade forth. Some that I expect to see from my fellow Ricocheteers include the abolition of the Fed, the FBI, the CIA, Big Pharma ads, sanctuary cities, the use of voting machines, the income tax, and, most importantly, restore the name Redskins to the Washington NFL team.

Exactly!  I have thought of calling my congressman to share my idea that if we banned insurance (especially State Farm) and drug ads, ‘Merica could lower the cost of both but I don’t think he will listen to me.

4 national channels is bad for America. I am enjoying my thousands.

I am genuinely  curious; I can understand, although I disagree with banning pharmaceutical ads, but why insurance?

Hate to tell you, but McC did a great job in Ohio, Pennsylvania,  & Montana- with an unintended assist from Schumer (who placed ads in the primary pushing Moreno b/c he thought he was the easily beatable candidate). McC poured a ton of money into the senate race there. While Cruz attacked him for not spending money in Texas, McC was right that he thought that Cruz & Tim Scott would win without any help- so he targeted other races. He made the right call.

Susan Quinn: Their hatefulness has been legion, destroying any hope for balance or fairness.

I just caught a snippet of Al Sharpton on MSNBC providing his “analysis” of what went wrong for Democrats last night.   Surprise, surprise … the problem is the misinformed, racist, misogynistic electorate.   Thus has it been for decades.

I wish I still had the letter … but years ago I wrote to one of my college friends who went on to be a looooong serving liberal Dem Congresscrittter.    Back in the day they were always open to reasoned argument.   But the reply I got to my letter was a lengthy, vitriolic harangue about how if I wasn’t terrified of the Neandertals of fly-over America then I was part of the problem.   They’ll never change.

There will be plenty to fight over  the next three months. Biden-Harris are going to burn the land and salt the earth to fully destroy the country before Trump takes office. The American People must be punished. They are that petty.

The Southern border will but opened even wider. The administration will do everything possible to sabotage the country for the incoming Trump team. Lame duck status has conferred immunity in Biden-Harris and they are going to go on a raping and pillaging (politically speaking) spree that will make Hunter Biden look like an altar boy by comparison. It’s going to be the worst three months coming up. The fight against the Left isn’t  over.

I hate to tell you, his job is to release that money to Senate candidates. That’s what the money is for, he just made sure it went through his campaign committee to create an obligation.

No- McC is not running for majority leader so his personal benefit is limited. His job is to win races and the results speak for themselves- his PAC money helped beat incumbents in 3 important races- MT, PA,  and Ohio. He didn’t waste money in TX & FL like many wanted- Cruz won by almost 1M and Scott by 1.4M without money from the SLF- so he clearly made the right call there.

WAY too many of them!  They are as numerous as drug ads.  I would not be surprised if part of the increases we are seeing in premiums is to pay Mahomes and company (to single out State Farm).

Most or all of the Senate candidates–I was surprised to see–underperformed compared to the top of the ticket. If you’re putting forth McConnell as a mastermind, the numbers don’t back it. I appreciate his efforts, but the credit due is limited.

How many times in this cycle were we warned that what drove voting behavior was people showing up to vote against someone? The intent of the comment was to disparage the voters’ choice of presidential candidate, a title which only one candidate could claim this time around. The Trump campaign got more people out than yer boy, and not all extended support down ticket. So, if the contention is McConnell is shrewd, then Trump’s team was brilliant by the same criteria.

Whatever, all of it is good. I’m willing to forget McConnell’s attempted late season sabotage, but am not so charitable to believe he should be at all engaged in leadership decisions.
