Will the Left Call Off Their Dogs?

Most of us hope that if (or hopefully, when) Kamala loses, the Left will tell their constituents to stand down. You can be sure that they are arming with bricks, pipes and matches to protest, although most of them may not be political people at all. I’ve intentionally called their rioters “dogs,” since violent protests show their primitive nature and behaviors.

During the protests in 2020, the Leftist leaders and media tried to pretend that nothing serious was actually happening—we couldn’t trust our lying eyes, as windows were broken and businesses went up in flames. Kamala contributed to a fund that let violators out on bail. And I suspect that this time around, since they had a trial run four years ago, the chaos will be more devastating.

I would like to see the leaders of this country—the outgoing president and vice-president, as well as members of Congress—get out ahead of the election results. Even if they do, they most likely will be ignored. And if they are ignored, their complaints about riots will probably look more like hand-wringing.

So I look forward with qualified optimism and trepidation to learning the election outcomes. Let’s hope the governors wise up and call out the National Guard immediately and enforce law and order.

We deserve that protection.

No chance at all, Susan. Zero.  Please understand that post-election violence will, if Mr Trump prevails, be a feature and not a flaw.  There will be a concerted and coordinated effort to keep him out of office.  This will involve civil violence and the courts.

If he manages to get inaugurated, the degree of civil and institutional disobedience and disruption will make 2017-2020 look like kindergarten.

I remain cautiously optimistic for a Trump victory — possibly even a large victory.

I expect that, if Trump does win, there will be quite a lot of civil unrest — looting and rioting and burning and all the other “summer of love” nonsense.

And, to be honest, I think that would probably be a good thing. Transparency is good. The left is willing to burn down the institutions while the press looks elsewhere. It is beneficial for Americans to see the left misbehaving in ways the press can’t hide.

Also, if there is no effort to attain law and order, the governors should pay dearly!! Every effort should be made to defame them for not taking action.

Susan Quinn: the Left will tell their constituents to stand down

The violence on the Left only happens, because the people of the Left are brainwashed to accept violence.   Will the neo-Maoist institutions and Media allow the people of the Left to escape their brainwashing?   Unlikely.   I expect 4 years of Maoists yelling “fascism” and the Left praising “the resistance fighters”.   Commies love to act like persecuted underdogs, despite their control of institutional power.

Heck – LA riots when their team wins. What to expect if their team does not win? And the Left’s media will not cover or admit it.

I hear you. A concern I have is that they will decide to increase the attacks, either in number or even with guns. I guess they’d think that the guns would teach us a lesson, due to our reticence toward gun control.

I think you can take that for granted. The left hasn’t stopped violent aggressiveness since 2020. They just vary the subject matter excuse. They terrorize with paint and road stoppages and phone theft and college campus occupation and punching someone in the nose and just plain yelling at random people in coffee shops. It can count on the various tribes of invaders to supply a wider range and higher level of violence, none of which has been challenged in most cities for 4 years. It all subverts. The left does not intend to lose. I’ll probably do some shopping for groceries and basics tomorrow.

On January 20th the DoJ political appointees will be fired and the process of replacing the federal attorneys can begin. There are civil service that will plug the worst shortfalls until a hopefully Republican Congress can complete the confirmation process. And then ActBlue, the FEC violation factory that manages the financing of Dem candidates, Antifa, BLM, and probably much more that I haven’t run into yet, can be investigated, charges made, and convictions secured. By that time, the American people can expect to be informed of how the Democratic Party has engineered looting, arson, and murder sprees across their own cities to sow fear and terror and hopelessness in the people who trusted them with political leadership of their communities, especially in 2020 and again in 2024, if things develop in that direction.

The conduct of the Harris/Walz campaign has been plainly disordered and incompetent. My favorite feature is the way every celebrity Harris appointment is immediately followed by photos of that celebrity with P. Diddy. There are petty Dem operators who have bragged about various dubious schemes to keep an elected Trump from assuming the presidency and seating the Kamalatastrophe in his place, an actual insurrection justified by the Pelosi-led J6 unsurrection that they tried to frame on Trump. A frame so clumsy that only Ahnold and the Bulwark and the “journalists” were fooled.

Sisyphus, I so hope that events get initiated quickly as you’ve suggested. Hitting the DOJ, completing the confirmation process, charging all those who’ve done damage and leaving them in jail. Quick action will send a powerful message to those of us who believe in law and order, and integrity. It seems like there are so few of us…

The 2020 summer riots were strategically fabricated for the purpose of creating unrest under the Trump presidency.  It’s an old trick; authoritarian regimes have historically used public unrest to gain power; down to Karl Marx’s “class struggle”.

At the same time they wanted to portray the protestors as good guys angry at evil President Trump.  Hence the “peaceful protest” spin, distributed via talking point.

After Kamala loses, there won’t be any incentive for violent protests, so I don’t think you’ll see that.  Other than the occasionally chubby girl with glasses and green jacket screaming at the top of her longs.

To extend my remarks, the Left’s conduct throughout has been lawless and calculated to assure that a day of reckoning would never come, as it has not for Putin, Xi, and their other heroes. At the worst remove, a quisling Bush or Romney like puppet would wave it all away in a grant of mercy and leave the crooks in place. Again. Some more. Normal operating procedure.

Trump has seen the trap played with intelligence briefings. The victim gets a briefing and the scoundrels leak some tidbit and frame the victim for the crime. He now knows that our Intelligence Community is the enemy, and their information is disinformation designed to modify the victim’s behavior. My understanding is that Trump has respect for the Duran podcasters (Rumble), to start, and that is the best indication of future policy direction. (This is good news, by the way, for the sound budgeting and fiscal management lobby. They look at foreign affairs but so far to my experience they always brought the fiscal dimension into their analysis.) Not that anyone knows for sure where any of that will end up, except that it will not end up with the usual suspects and Ron & Rand will likely have more influence than they have ever enjoyed to date.

Oh, and the JFK/RFK/MLKjr files will be fully released. And if they end up succeeding in the assassination of President Trump, I think they will find everlasting regret at the hands of America’s first Marine veteran president.

Lord, please bless President Trump and his team and help them steer us away from the rocks. And whirlpools. And leviathans.

Susan, in our strangely bifurcated society, with its weird near-50/50 split between the two parties, it isn’t necessary that a lot of the “public ‘gets it.'” It’s necessary that a small double-digit percentage (if that) of the voting public sees the stark difference between left and right, and concludes that they’d rather live with civilization than without it.

The left relies on a combination of popular political disinterest and complicit mainstream-media disinformation to sustain the narrative that the right is radical and the left represents some kind of normalcy and civility. Sam Harris, a presumably bright guy (though I’ve yet to see evidence of that) debating recently with Ben Shapiro on Bari Weiss’ Honestly podcast, made that explicit: He trotted out the tired canard that a vote for Harris was a vote for “normalcy” — as if there’s any sense in which the bizarre and evasive Harris campaign was in any way normal. He also claimed that “the far left of the Democratic Party has been shoved to the side by the normal Democrats in a way that the far right of the Republican Party hasn’t been.”

Never mind that the far left of the Democratic Party sits in Congress and that the current Democratic candidate for President was voted most leftist Senator during her time in office. It’s those crazy right-wing Republicans who are the extremists.

People believe this stuff until someone burns down the Wendy’s on the corner. Each time that happens, a few more previously-disinterested people take notice.

I think it’s making a difference already, Susan. Trump was elected in 2016 in part because people were tired of radicalism. He’s neck-and-neck (we think, maybe) with Harris right now because, despite all the whitewashing, rabid disinterest, and smoke being blown up various orifices by the mainstream media, people are tired of radicalism — tired of riots, tired of trans, tired of unchecked immigration, tired of bad policies driving up the prices of everything.

The action they’ll take is to vote less frequently for Democrats. If a few percent do that, things will change.

I think you are optimistic – remember when BushII tried to fire just 5 ADA’s, and that clown in the SDNY. None of it stuck.  Trump has to overcome the govt unions and “arbitration” board and others once again trying to hamstring and euthanize his administration. There will be many, some already working along side the campaign. This is one reason I’m hopeful Vance believes as he speaks now. I see a long hard slog for many years. Expect a surprise.

Of course they were *physical* riots, with fires, destruction, and all that.

But what drove the riots?  Anger at a possibly racist police department?  Which would be the responsibility of the police chief, who was black, and was appointed by the mayor, who was elected by the people themselves?  Any anger would have to be directed toward City Hall, not to  neighbors, their local homes, and businesses.
