Biden is obviously reading this from a teleprompter.  Watch his eyes scan back and forth.  He is sitting in front of it, and he is still having difficulty.

We hear gossip that President Biden and VP Harris are not on the best of terms.  Could this be intentional on the part of the current POTUS?  In other words he knows this will be used to emphasize the Democrats’ role in the current political polarization of the country.  It was not a good move with 1 week before the election.

As a Trump voter I highly resent this statement and it motivates me to work harder.  The President knows this will be the effect on many of us and clearly undercuts the picture of “Trump as the Divider” message being carried by VP Harris and her surrogates.

Is it possible or even likely that POTUS said this intentionally?

I think he is operating from the gut, nursing his wounded pride. Biden has never been particularly cerebral and he shows his age. He get’s cranky, get’s his Irish up. Obama always had plots within plots within plots, Biden needs scripting.

The White House walk back is that Biden missed an apostrophe.  Considering his current debilitation, I’d say that is plausible.  Or maybe it was missing on the teleprompter.  Per the New York Post:

In a transcript of Biden’s comments provided by the White House, his team argued there was intended to be an apostrophe in “supporters.”

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American,” the transcript read.

Biden, himself, quickly clarified his intention via social media.

“Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say,” he wrote on X.

Word is that Biden’s comment has eclipsed all the effort the Harris campaign put into Kamala’s unhinged and dishonest Mall rally. Biden is batting a thousand in stepping all over the Harris campaign.

And lest you buy the notion that Biden simply misspoke and didn’t really mean what he said, please remember what he said in Philadelphia with the theatrical demonic red background staging that could have been inspired by Albert Speer:

“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,” Biden declared. He said they “promote authoritarian leaders and they fan the flames of political violence.”

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards,” Biden said. “Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.”

If the phrase: “they promote authoritarian leaders and they fan the flames of political violence” sounds familiar it could be because it’s a deliberate if even a veiled reference what happened in Germany in the early 1930s with the rise of Hitler’s brown shirts.

In 2020, during his debate with Trump, Biden referred to Antifa as an idea and not an organization (as many Democrats on the Hill had also claimed). Biden’s debate claim was made after it was quite evident that Antifa had engaged in numerous violent actions and its organization had chapters around the country that communicated routinely with one another (even on Facebook and Twitter at the time and other more secure channels) and even traveled to other cities for protests to join up with other Antifa chapters. During that debate Biden claimed that white supremacists were a greater threat to America…after he was president, his DOJ and FBI continued this ridiculous mantra.

Of course, Joe believes Trump’s followers are garbage.

    <sarcasm>

No, you misunderstand, no joke. You heard Biden say this:

The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.

    What he really said was:

The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s.

You see, the apostrophe makes it clear that Biden was talking about the comedian’s garbage, not the people that support Trump.

You’ll remember earlier last week Biden clarified his statement about locking Trump up so that no one would be mistaken: “We gotta lock him up…politically lock him up.” In the statement about Puerto Rican voters Biden should have said “supporter’s garbage.”

Just a minor slip. (BTW, for you conspiracy theorists, “politically lock him up” just means “beat him at the polls.”)

There’s no way to paint this as anything other than blatant stupidity.  I buy that the teleprompter had an apostrophe, but still, the person who wrote that is a moron.  He or she should have known how it would sound.  It would have been so easy to write, “The only garbage I see is from that Trump-supporting comedian.”  And Biden has been in politics for decades!  He still doesn’t have enough instinct in this business to know how this would sound?  We apparently have President Ron Burgandy.

I don’t think that there are such clear-cut lines as that.  I think you can find people in every party and every profession who hate large swaths of their fellow Americans, but I don’t believe that the number of people who view the country that way makes up the majority in any of those groups.

Yes, the following may be more accurate:

Large swaths of Democrats, large swaths of the corporate media, large swaths of the permanent bureaucracy (including many of the GOPe who have been in Washington D.C. for far too long who expressed their disdain for the Tea Party movement and the MAGA followers of Trump) also see millions of Americans as rubes, hicks, bigots, wild-eyed conspiracy theorists, racists, white supremacists, smelly Walmart shoppers, and generally garbage who cling to their Bibles and guns.

Hey, I am just trying to helpful.
