Democrats and their media allies have an obsessive fixation on the events of January 6th, 2021, as though they think continually harping on it is the key to a Harris/Walz victory in November. The truth is that J6 is a nonissue for most undecided voters at this point. Virtually every voter who cares about J6 is already committed to a candidate.

Those who think it was an actual insurrection, and the worst thing to happen in America since the Civil War, are already voting for Harris. Those who think J6 was a protest that got out of hand, and that the federal government overreached by taking a maximalist approach to charging protestors and holding them as political prisoners, are already voting for Trump. The rest of the electorate doesn’t care enough about J6 for it to determine their vote. No amount of Democrat or media harping between now and November 5 will change that.

Still, it is tiresome for Trump, Vance, and their surrogates to constantly field questions about this so-called issue. Media figures only bring it up because they think it’s the ultimate gotcha question that puts Team Trump in a box. In reality, their only achievement in asking these questions is to waste everyone’s time.

Going forward, anyone connected to the Trump campaign who is asked about January 6th should embrace the opportunity to turn the topic of insurrection against the current administration by responding along these lines:

“If you want to talk about insurrection, fine. Let’s talk about it:

“The Biden-Harris administration from day one has been an insurrection against the American people. Their open border policy has been an insurrection against our national sovereignty.

“The Biden-Harris importation of untold numbers of criminal aliens has been an insurrection against the rights of the people who have been beaten, raped, and murdered by many of the illegals this administration has let into the country.

“The Biden-Harris inflationary economic policies have been an insurrection against the wallet of every American citizen whose purchasing power has declined over the course of the past four years as the cost of just about everything far outpaces wage growth.

“The Biden-Harris administration’s fiscal policy has been an insurrection against the American Dream as homeownership for young people has grown nearly beyond reach.

“The Biden-Harris foreign policy, including the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, has been an insurrection against our national security as their weakness on the world stage has invited conflict around the globe.

“The Biden-Harris law enforcement policy has been an insurrection against the norms of our justice system, turning us into a banana republic by weaponizing the Department of Justice to target political opponents on trumped up charges using novel and unconstitutional legal theories.”

After a few answers along these lines, the press may soon grow weary of the topic and stop bringing it up altogether. At the very least it would be fun to watch folks like Jake Tapper, Martha Raddatz, and their like-minded media peers grimace and sputter in response.
