So I figured out why the lefties want to trans your kids

There is an article published in City Journal that discusses the philosophy of Wilhelm Reich. In summary, Reich had a deeply indecent sexuality. He was into incest and kids.

In this he is quite similar to Jean Jacques Rousseau, who was into sado-masochism, and Michael Foucault, who likely raped an Algerian boy and was profligate in his promiscuity even after he knew that he had HIV-AIDs.

Here is what all these philosophers had in common. As a reaction to their inclinations toward sexual evil, they decided that their sexual proclivities weren’t bad. It was sexual repression that was the real enemy.

As the article put it:

Reich counseled his patients to see their innate inhibitions as an “armor” and a “plague” in need of tradition. “Mankind is biologically sick,” he wrote.” Man’s bioptic character structure is, as it were, the fossilization of the authorities process of history. It is the biophysical reproduction of mass suppression.” He argued that it was perfectly appropriate for children to witness their parents’ own sexual congress.

In essence, children suffer from their parents’ bourgeois norms with regard to sexuality. If children are freed to explore their sexuality, the difficulties that come with sexuality will evaporate, as if by magic. This is pure Rousseau, the source of drag story time in libraries.

Constantly throughout the radical left is a strain of destructive nihilism. Once we get rid of capitalism, people won’t be greedy. Once we get rid of all our history and tear down all our statues, racism will go away. It’s the noble savage myth all the way down.

It will be no surprise to anyone who is familiar with sexual predators or Communist theory that Reich wanted to break up the family unit and replace it with government indoctrination.

“The prevention of neuroses,” he maintained elsewhere, “begins by excluding from the education of the child his or her own parents who have proven themselves to be the most unqualified educators. The sexual education of the small child will be put instead into the hands of specially trained personnel who will be less biased.”

Then, after advocating for a totalitarian revolution that gives government officials greater power, he accuses the other side of fascism. Forgive my repetition, but all of this seems extremely current for a guy who was born in 1897.

Reich believed that the continuation of the family paved the way to fascistic government. “At first the child has to submit to the structure of the authoritarian miniature state, the family; this makes it capable of later subordination of the general authoritarian system. The formation of the authoritarian structure takes place through the anchoring of sexual inhibition and sexual anxiety.” Philip Rieff’s 1966 book, The Triumph of the Therapeutic, which includes a sharp critique of Reich’s Freudo-Marxism, notes: “Sex education becomes the main weapon in an ideological war against the family; its aim is to divest the parents of their moral authority.”

In modern times, this leads us to schools handing out books with gay pornographic prose and telling them not to talk to their parents about it.

When this started happening in schools a year or two ago, I remember a classically liberal Scottish guy saying something like, “Why didn’t they stop at gay marriage? If a gay couple wants to go down the street holding hands, I don’t want them to be beaten up. That was horrible to gays and I oppose it. But now people are dressing in fetish gear to go to a library to twerk in parades that are advertised as ‘family-friendly.’ That’s not what I and many other advocates of gay rights signed up for.”

Forgive me for not being able to find the YouTube video. I didn’t come up with this idea myself and I want to communicate that many other people have noticed the change from classically liberal tolerance of different folks just living their lives, to forcibly acceptance of anti-family government dominant ideologies.

For a long time, I have been a bit confused about how we got to Wokism’s emphasis on minorities (sexual and otherwise) while it still retained the anti-capitalist tendencies of the earlier Marxists. This article also explains Queers for Palestine and why lefty wine moms actually want to take their kids to drag queen story hour.  City Journal’s article provided a light in the dark gaps of my knowledge base. I recommend that you check it out.

Good post Henry. I don’t know how many times I’ve said to my wife and friends, do whatever you want in your own privacy. None of that is any of my business. But when you push your privates in front of my face, you have made it My business and I have a right to say STOP. BTW, those philosophers that you mentioned are extremely sick people. They are dangerous to the human race and should be shunned. Why anyone would hold them up With esteem Is unfathomable. After my walk today, I had to go mail a letter so I got my car to drive to the post office. I saw a woman out walking her dog. She was wearing a mask. I mailed the letter and was headed back home Saw her again rounding the corner just out for a walk with her dog wearing a mask. I thought to myself she must have some serious personal problems. What is it about masks and isolation. That seems to draw people of a certain ilk. I know it’s not exactly the same things the sexual perversions of the philosophers and psychologist you mentioned. But it runs parallel to that perversion. Please forgive the transcription of my spoken words.

It grieves me to see anyone still wear a mask .

Of course if they have a compromise immune system it is understandable .

It’s the continued confusion of licentiousness with liberty…lust with love.

Being good historical materialists, neither Marx nor Engels said much about what would come after The Revolution.   One speculation was the creation of “the new communist man” who would be free of those capitalist desires like greed.   This sexual aspect fits right into that framework.

A while back, there was a story in the New Yorker (I know, I know) about a foster program in Germany that DELIBERATELY placed children in the homes of pedophiles.

I wonder if this Reich monster was behind any of that.

No.  The masks are useless at best, and present additional problems at worst.

People wearing masks in public should be viewed as people who lack critical thinking skills,  and who are likely neurotic.

I understand your sense that these people might have a health reason to wear a mask,  but…

    Science!

This is different than an operating room,  or dentist’s chair where wearing a mask offers real value in avoiding spray or droplets created by either procedure or sneeze.

I wouldn’t be too quick to judge mask wearers. We have a lady in our retirement community who wears a mask at all time in public. She is on her second kidney transplant after her first was rejected. She wore the mask pre-Covid, and I’m think her transplant specialist had good reason for prescribing it.

I disagree.  We should be Karens who judge mask wearers as morally deficient.   Why should the left have all the Karens?

Roger Scruton wrote that the left  (the “repudiation culture”) attacks every vestige of our culture in service to the fiction that if it is all exposed as a sneaky exercise of power, we will be free to be our real selves.  It is not surprising that so many of the vociferous advocates of this kind of liberation are raging perverts and/or wannabe Lenins or Maos.

That sounds interesting.  I had never heard of him before, but I see he also has a book published in 2021, “The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self.”   If you’ve read that one as well, I’d appreciate your opinion as to whether there is anything in it that is not contained in the newer book.

We are now experiencing a reign of terror with a full assault on children, parents, the family, and the structure of Western Civilization in the transgender agenda. These Jacobins have captured the entirety of our health systems, our educational systems, our political systems, our entertainment systems and are grooming an entire generation of children. They might as well be guillotining us en mass. Articles like the one cited are essential to arousing the sleeping giant to rid our society of the insanity that is being forced upon us.

Yes.  “The Rise and Triumph . . . ” is a deeper, more academic work.  “Strange New World” is a condensed version of “The Rise . . . ” for a broader audience.

With respect: The damage they do is done by the perverse philosophy they promote, not by simply being philosophers.  I am surprised to see you, a philosopher, among those who don’t understand that.

I am for philosophy but it needs to be tied to physical reality in some way. Philosophy is not itself and we all have to be philosophers but we need to tie our philosophy to actual people.
