A Second Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump
Shots were fired between Secret Service agents and an apparent would-be assassin at Trump International Golf Course, where the former president and nominee was golfing Sunday afternoon.
The suspect is now in custody and has been identified; he left behind a rifle at the scene after exchanging fire with agents before fleeing. According to a Secret Service official, the gunman was within 300 to 500 yards of the former president before being spotted.
Donald Trump is safe, and the FBI is investigating.

But it’s a moral imperative when faced with “literally Hitler.”
I’m sure the goal will be to memory hole this as quickly as possible.
The initial reporting seems to already be downplaying it.
It is outrageous that the Secret Service protection does not secure the entire golf course since there was already one assassination attempt.
Good thing Sleepy Joe and the regime media turned down the temperature.
The most bizarre part of this might be, the people who somehow think that the Trump term was a dystopian hellscape, things are MUCH better NOW, and they don’t want to go back to the hellscape…
I dunno, maybe the Secret Service would be more careful if their people were required to be surrounding the potential target at all times, so any shooting would necessarily hit THEM first.
The FBI is investigating…so, we know how THAT will turn out.
I agree that Ron DeSantis should take over this investigation.
And this seems appropriate:
It is absolutely true that there’s no rational basis for voting for a candidate just because someone tried to kill him.
However, I was already intending to vote for Donald Trump, and I find it more than annoying that people are going to such irregular extremes to deprive me of that opportunity. He’s been censored, de-platformed, conspired against by people within his own government, and convicted on trumped-up charges in legal proceedings of dubious legitimacy. Now he has been the target of two assassination attempts this calendar quarter. (And that’s not counting whatever it was ABC did to him the other night.)
So I’ve just sent his campaign some more money. I’m probably going to do it every time someone takes a shot at him, so here’s hoping the unhinged Trump haters can maintain their self-control until after the election: I’m not a wealthy man.
“Next?” He might mean “first.”
One news organization is on top of things. Well, “news” and they’re out ahead on creating a narrative that is (hopefully) parody.
LOL, Trump has had more assassination attempts than Kamala has had interviews.
I heard he is being charged with attempted murder and two counts of inconvenient optics.
Next headline for the Babylon Bee.
“Inconvenient optics” is what gets you quickly cremated.
Which would be even more scandalous this time since the would-be assassin survived. Will he now commit suicide?
from the OP:
I assume the intended word is “investigating”. Regardless, consider me not consoled.
Edited to add: wait … what??? Was that Freudian?
Well, it could have been “instigating” but I think they already covered that part.
They are revising the narratives and cuing up some fresh talent.
Correct. That damned iPhone autocorrect.
Fair enough. I can’t say I am either.
🤔
No relation
Well … getting back to whether we should feel consoled; the FBI will get to the bottom of this! We’re in good hands!

Do you even have to ask? Of course the guards will turn off the cameras, unlock all the cells, then go on break. The would be assassin will naturally have “committed suicide” by the time the guards get back .
Sounds like a nutjob.Oops. I thought I was responding to a Twitter thread about the Florida shooter. Wrong thread.
Gov. Witmer may soon be advising the KH campaign how to cultivate a kidnapping/assassination threat. Kamala can’t let Trump get all the headlines.
And after a couple of hours we already know more about Routh than we know about Crooks after two months.
Now I’m confused. From the link:
Sorry. I meant to post on this thread, but posted on your comment instead. ;)
IIRC, Epstein’s cellmate was a former NYPD officer on trial for multiple murders.
The shooter, the Florida FBI SAC, or both?
The shooter. The shooter sounds like a nutjob. I mean, it’s a safe bet that anyone who shoots at a presidential candidate in America is unhinged, right? But this particular guy sounds like a real Hinkley.
Who was he trying to impress? Frankly, Jodie Foster is getting up there in years.
