Haitians Taking Nine Lives from Harris Campaign?

Fifty-one present and former intelligence officials have signed a report that stories of disturbing behavior by illegal aliens in Springfield, OH and Aurora, CO are consistent with Russian disinformation.  Bill Kristol has suggested that these towns may not even exist.

The Aurora, Colorado story of local officials surrendering buildings to Venezuelan gangs has been given professional MSM treatment–mandatory silence until it goes away. However, the story of Haitians eating cats has been much harder to suppress from social media and has sparked enormous pushback from the Harris-Walz campaign and its media surrogates.  I suspect this is because their internal polling has confirmed Sen. Vance’s observation that their core constituency really is the single cat lady demographic.  Additionally, liberals actually care about whales, cats and puppies rather than the poor and minorities they only pretend to like.

PBS reported that the influx of Haitians in Ohio has been a blessing and any negative perceptions are wrong. The New York Times echoed that with the identical spin that the GOP has unfairly pounced.  We are told the matter is settled because the local police have no reports of missing pets.  (In my hometown, the police don’t handle missing pets—you call animal control, post signs, or use social media.  Haitians could be eating dozens of local cats and the local county and city police blotters would have no record unless the pets were grabbed out of the owner’s arms or somebody set up a cat barbecue in a highway median strip.)

The larger controlling official lie is that we can no longer hope to deport the huge mass of illegals, so we are forced to accept it and just sit back and wait for a federal judge or a Democratic Congress & President to require they be registered to vote.  The feds will continue to deposit them wherever they choose, especially in red states. The beatdowns will continue until morale improves.

The invaluable Babylon Bee has characteristically dug deeper into the economic effects of the issue than did the MSM:

Somewhere, two Harris campaign interns are talking and saying how icky it is that people keep finding out about these bad things, and wonder if the internet can’t be turned off so they won’t. They don’t, of course, realize the weight of their words and maybe never will.

Would that it were just those two interns and not higher-ups in media, Google, Facebook, et al.  I am continually surprised by what my lefty friends and acquaintances have not heard.

FYI, in my hometown, Animal Control is part of the police department, and is considered by the police guy on duty at the emergency room to be “us.”  I learned this back in 2017 when a dog bit me while I was bicycling.  It may work differently in other jurisdictions.

It’s like the window-lickers staffing PBS and the New York Times have never been to this country. Or dealt with a police department. That could be a fun project for them. Phone their local police and inquire as to the procedure for reporting a missing pet. Be sure to have a staff member who is not easily triggered make the call.

Note to the Chicago Tribune – you’d better not.

    Getting bit is qualitatively different.

You can’t even report a missing human for 24 hours unless it’s a kid. Every day, an average of 24,000 pets go missing in the US.  Biting people, cruelty by people, and theft of high-value breeders/show dogs would make it into the stats but using 911 to recover a cat is probably a nonstarter almost everywhere.

My point is that on Twitter and in minds likely formed by Twitter or its functional equivalent, the absence of police reports of missing cats is being treated as a conclusive refutation of the claims of eyewitnesses.

If anybody really cared about this unlawful behavior, these people would be subject to the same penalties and sentences as hunters who may legitimately attempt to keep to the hunting regulations migratory birds, but miss the mark and get big penalties for it.  Then again rules are for dupes who think they need to be followed, apparently.

Oh, yeah, I bet they are.  (Read sarcasm.)

However, lack of enforcement of the Migratory Birds Act Treaty (the source of the law) seems to indicate that the USA is in violation of this treaty.  It has potential effects should some other signatory nation choose to make it a problem.

I have heard that it isn’t pets, but ducks and geese from local parks that are being caught and eaten. They are protected species (virtually all birds are), and so killing them must be done in accordance with the hunting regulations and seasons in each state. Do these immigrants have a hunting permit?

This is the way it is here in Minnesota – Animal Control is part of the police department. I had a friend who was a dispatcher for years, and moved to Animal Control after getting burnt out in that position. Having said that, I don’t know if that holds true for large cities like Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Whether or not the specifics of these stories are completely accurate in this particular town, the stories illustrate the types of issues that arise when large numbers of people from one culture enter into an area whose existing population has a vastly different culture.

It’s not a matter of race and racism (as is often alleged). It is a matter of culture clash.

I imagine in societies in which literal starvation is constantly imminent, taking any roaming animal as food might be culturally acceptable. In some cultures taking girls from the streets for sex or other purposes is acceptable, especially if the girl is dressed in particular ways. Some cultures consider daughters appropriate to use as barter. Many cultures eschew the concept of private property, and consider any item found anywhere “fair game” to take and to use. Many cultures consider “dishonoring” a person appropriate justification to kill the person who did the “dishonoring.”

There are many cultures in the world today that differ from American / Western culture in fundamental ways.

Letting in (or even encouraging) large numbers of people from a culture very different from your own is going to create conflict, and may alter your own culture in significant ways. This is why a society that wants to continue must control immigration.

The guy probably thought the goose flew in from Ann Arbor.

There is a lot of stuff on the web that is not what it purports to be. That doesn’t mean the problems don’t exist but sometimes it ends up being counterproductive.

I was 15 when Saigon fell and my town got a pretty good influx of Vietnamese refugees. A family one street over was eventually banned from adopting dogs at the local humane society shelter. “Mama, I’m going to wok the dog” became a catchphrase in our neighborhood.

Often lots animal shelters kill the dogs that don’t get adopted. I think it’s fine to give those animals to various Asian restaurants.
