SCC Econ 101

Who knew that Second City Cop offered tuition-free internet courses on economics?

There have been a number of politicians and pundits who have been touting that inflation has been decreasing. The Joyful Warrior Harris campaign loves Ven Diagrams, white man taco cooking classes, and playing with numbers. Crime is down and the border is secure, so quit your complaining. Less is more so don’t worry, be happy.

That 2.9% announced a few days ago and the dems are all, “It’s below the predicted 3%! It’s coming under control. Cut interest rates before the election!”

Econ 101 – inflation is cumulative. Here’s a simple explanation using the last four years of inflation numbers:

I used to weigh 200.

In 2020 I gained 2.8 lbs (1.4% gain)
In 2021 I gained 14.2 lbs (7% gain)
In 2022 I gained 14.1 lbs (6.5% gain)
In 2023 I gained 7.9 lbs (3.4% gain)
This year I only gained 5.9 lbs (2.9% gain)

So my weight gain is down. But now I weigh 245? The percentage compounds on the previous increases. That’s why they use year-over-year rates to be able to completely gaslight about the previous years.
Or you could just look at your receipts from the grocery store instead of listening to democrats.

Venn diagrams were introduced in 1880 by John Venn in a paper entitled “On the Diagrammatic and Mechanical Representation of Propositions and Reasonings”

I read that post too, and was shocked at how easy it was to explain inflation. But we are supposed to believe them instead of our own lying eyes and empty wallets.

Don’t forget, most people have an IQ of 100 or less, by definition.

You may think it doesn’t/shouldn’t take much brain power to recognize something, but don’t be surprised when a lot of people don’t.  Perhaps up to 50% or even more.

I actually think most people get it, and reject what the politicians and pundits are saying, which is why the politicians and pundits are getting frustrated with the “peasants.” The peasants remember what things cost just 4 or 5 years ago. The politicians and pundits are frustrated that the peasants do remember what they could buy then.

And yet something like 50% of people seem to be still intent on voting Democrat, which supports my point.

But the scientism says that they are more prosperous now!
