It’s Weird Out There And Getting Weirder
It’s always amazing to me how the Left is able to organize and unite around even the smallest things. They use exactly the same language, the same talking points. A few years ago there was the “Journo-list” email group of journalists whose members agreed beforehand on how the day’s news would get covered. That’s why it seldom matters which channel you watch…it’s all the same. Today is no exception. For the past 18 hours or so, we have ceased to be existential threats to democracy and have become weird. I must have seen or heard it 100 times today. Weird. It must have been focused-grouped. But the incredible thing is how quickly, uniformly and thoroughly it has been adopted. It’s not just the pols and their MSM mouthpieces. That’s to be expected. But it’s everywhere. Local news and the comment sections of internet articles … even personal Instagrams. Do these folks get to do any independent thinking? Or are they required to submit entirely to the hive mind?
Joe Biden was playing 3-D chess until the hive mind determined he was mentally impaired. The pirouette was flawless. Kamala Harris was a cringeworthy meme until she became the savior of democracy. Now she’s not a radical progressive… she’s normal and we are weird.
Weird.

Isn’t it great that ‘weird’ is just one syllable? That makes it easier to say and insert again and again. Sort of like ‘parse’ and ‘trad’ and ‘brat’ and ‘chill.’
It’s the Iron Law of Woke Projection: the left always accuses its opponents of what it is guilty of itself.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. – Hunter S. Thompson
The Left: “Republicans are weird.”
Also the Left:
I think this is it exactly. The Harris campaign did a focus group and the number complaint about her was that she was “weird”. So the order went out to accuse Vance of being weird. It might work to stop the GOP from calling her weird, or it might be the Streisand affect and get people thinking and talking it how weird she is. Coconuts!
In this cycle, I first saw the term “weird” applied to Vance.
He is weird. Not just because of the beard, though there is that. A hillbilly with a Yale law degree who converted to Catholicism and is married to a practicing Hindu who clerked for two Supreme Court Justices? And he’s the champion of the American working class? If it were a Hollywood script, would you believe it?
I don’t think I want to know exactly where or why this picture was taken, but as a male, aren’t you a little worried about your fellow ‘men’? I know I am embarrassed by women with the bovine nose rings and tri color hair.
So a man having a beard is weird? I’m starting to suspect you’re putting us on, Jerry. Tell the truth. Did your old ex-Ricochet friend bet you that you couldn’t drive more people crazy than he did?
Worried? Nah.
Instapundit:
Edit: In response to @DaveSchmidt, I see this image is in fact photoshoped.
You left out that he’s a former Marine (would you make it through Parris Island?), enlisted to boot. He admits that the USMC gave him the discipline he needed to achieve all that he has. And I’d say Yale Law is quite an achievement. I recall when that was seen as something admirable, especially for one who didn’t have the advantages of the typical Ivy Leaguer.
Ah, I know. It’s not the beard, etc. It’s the Catholicism and marriage to a Hindu that’s got your panties in a wad.
“weird: suggesting something supernatural; uncanny: “
Perhaps there *is* something supernatural about a fellow who can go from JD’s childhood to Yale law to the Senate. It’s a “good weird”, no?
Excellent, extraordinary, exemplary … that’s just the Es.
Photoshop?
Too good to be true.
the Journolist is alive and well.
the same set of people who complained about the FJB “cheap fakes” are the same pushing the “Vance is weird” meme.
What is odd is how shameless they are about it now. The original journolist was more stealth.
Yes, look where his head meets the neck. His ear is a bit cropped, too.
But the thing is, you could believe it’s not fake.
It’s less convincing than the photoshop I’ve seen of Hillary Clinton dressed in a leather dominatrix outfit, holding a whip.
I can’t remember if Mr. Buttigieg jumped on this particular bandwagon, but men “chestfeeding” was quite the craze at about the time he and the other guy adopted the two babies and pretended to have just given birth themselves in the maternity ward of a hospital. [We also still don’t know how those babies were created. Did Mr. Buttigieg and the other guy find babies that needed a home? Or did they use a couple of women (or one woman if the babies are actually twins) to create designer babies?
Like Dan Rather’s National Guard documents?
“On Wednesdays we wear pink.”
The Bee has a weird quiz.
I didn’t get a single correct answer. That’s weird!!
You won’t believe what happens next!
What’s really weird is that suddenly weird is a bad thing. What happened to “keep Portland (Austin, wherever) weird”?
Not that I agree with that either because when you try to force weirdness it doesn’t work right.
Me either.
This about sums it up……….Biden/Harris – your bus is leaving………
