This is just some gritty reboot of 1968, isn’t it?

Assassination attempts and now the incumbent bails. LBJ didn’t wait until July, though. He announced he wouldn’t run on March 31st.

No real people love, like or have any regard for  Kamala.

Pundits are stating that since she has no possible way of winning against Trump, the advantage to the DNC putting her up as the hopeless nominee is that she will lose her political career forever. (And no one cares.)

That way the golden boy Gavin Newsom, who also would lose this election  to Trump, will have a clearer path to the 2028 party nomination. He  can then go up against whomever it is that the Republicans will put up as their 2028 nominee.

LBJ had a working brain. And his narcissism was nowhere approaching the staggering heights of the narcissism of Team Obama.

    Inexplicable!

I have it on the best Mainstream Media (D) authority that he’s at the top of his game. There must be some mistake.

As I told my kid brother John, best-case scenario is we get to run against Kamala Harris, worst case is Michelle Obama.

To which he immediately replied: “So a hooker and a transvestite walk into a bar…”

Actually, LBJ’s narcissism was equivalent.  He did have more political skills than Biden did, more as a legislator than as president.

But then Biden’s skills as either legislator or president were poor.

Trump: A thinking person understands the serious harm that  the open border policies of the Biden/Harris administration have caused to all real Americans. So what changes, if any will you bring about if you were elected? (Or if the fake media selected you as the fake president?)”

Kamala: “In answer to your fine question, Mr Trump, a question asked at a debate is an opportunity for one’s opponent to answer.

“The answer will be specific words designed to have meaning.  The words will be the opportunity and the opportunity involves the words. I hope that addresses the concerns you have about further damage I will do should  the fake media make me the fake president.”

He’ll only need one line, the same one he used on FJB.  “I don’t know what she just said, and I don’t think she knows either.”

Democrats. First the tragedy of Vietnam, now this most recent chapter of their farce. Can you imagine “If elected, I will not serve” today?

It really is. I heard people reviewing the last election. the only reason they went with South Carolina first over New Hampshire was to help Biden. Bernie was getting ahead a second time and they all got together and wiped him out, again.

I don’t know how this all plays out, but if it goes to the convention with a second ballot, the *** Democrat Super Delegates ***  get to vote for whoever they want.

This is completely forgotten, but when they leaked what John Podesta was saying on his cell phone, it was beautiful. They absolutely hate their little people.

The late 60’s and 70’s were the last time the Democrats lost their minds.

How appropriate the convention is in Chicago…

After Biden’s debate performance, not only was his goose cooked, but the cat was out of the bag that the media had been lying to the American people about Joe’s mental state.  It’s not merely that people have lost confidence in Biden, Toto has pulled the curtain away from the shapers of our public narrative.

Picking Kamala is at best a hail-Mary, at worst a human sacrifice.

It is noteworthy that Biden’s first order of business was to self-servingly list his supposed great accomplishments.  In fact, you’d never know from the first three paragraphs that this had anything to do with him stepping down.  Nixon did no such  thing when he delivered his resignation address.  He was upfront about resigning.

Let me note how reckless is his capitulation. It comes long after the primary election, when voters could have found a consensus by democratic means. No potential replacement is vetted, and the hapless moron Harris is  laughing stock.

The parallel here isn’t LBJ. It’s Afghanistan. Everything Joe Biden does is stupid, ugly, and destructive.

According to the DNC rules, “Superdelegates” are not allowed to vote on the first ballot at the convention unless there one candidate has an absolute majority of the vote. If they wanted to avoid multiple ballots and coalesce behind Harris quickly then the first thing would be is to vote on a rule change.

I wouldn’t undersell his ability as president. He accomplished a great deal. Not that I think his policies were correct or effective. In part, he had a tailwind from Kennedy’s death. He was a solid FDR acolyte and determined to build on the New Deal. He was derailed by Vietnam.

It’s been said he lived in fear after seeing the damage done to the Democrats over the loss of China by Chiang Kai-Shek. Where he failed was in thinking he could wrest a durable cease fire like in Korea. Instead,  Vietnam became a bottomless pit of Johnson’s credibility and American resources.

Read On Strategy by COL Harry Summers for a decent summary of the road to military failure trod by Johnson and Nixon.

How good it is to see this untalented, treasonous blowhard of a grifter having to humiliate himself in this way. Remember the comments Mr Biden made to Mr Trump back when he announced their debate(s)? “C’mon pal, make my day”? Well, this has made mine.
