Deliberations Done for the Day

The jury in Donald Trump’s NY trial received jury instructions this morning, began deliberations around 11:30am ET and were dismissed shortly after 4pm.

Jurors were told not to discuss the case with anyone and not to visit sites or read accounts of the case.

They will resume deliberations tomorrow morning at 9:30 and told they may extend their day to 6pm if they believe they are close to a decision.

If ever there was a jury that needed to be sequestered for deliberations, this is it.

Is there a howling mob surrounding the courthouse, like the Derek Chauvin trial? What a disgrace.

It could go either way, though.  Trump is actually surprisingly popular in NY now, and this trial appears to be responsible for a lot of it.

The judge gave the jury three to choose from, and said, in effect, “pick ’em.”

So a jury that divides 4-4-4 is, to this whackjob judge, producing a unanimous verdict.
