Pride Unbounded For Young American Patriots Who Protected Old Glory from pro-Palestinian Rioters

“Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight…”

Mere words cannot possibly express how proud I am of the young men at Chapel Hill who came to the rescue of our beloved Old Glory as it was being dishonored and soiled by pro-Palestinian protesters as they tried to throw it on the ground and raise the Palestine flag in its place. It is all too easy to fall into a bit of resignation about the state of our Republic these days but when you see a display of pure patriotism like this you just have to know this is still, after 234 years, the greatest Nation ever devised by the mind of man. Here is a tribute to them from lucianne.com, followed by a brief excerpt from an article in the Daily Mail with photographs of the incident:

Patriotic frat boys valiantly protected an American flag on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill even while being pelted by water bottles from pro-Palestine protestors.

Footage emerged on social media showing the group of male students from the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity holding onto the stars and stripes during a Tuesday protest.  Pro-Palestine groups lobbed bottles of water at the group who clutched the flag as they were screamed at by masked protestors.

One person was seen carrying an Israel flag as others threw objects and water at him as the group held the flag high so as to not let it touch the ground.

God Bless those young American patriots and

God Bless America!

Here is a clip I just spotted on Facebook showing some very patriotic young people at my Alma Mater, LSU, singing the National Anthem-with gusto! Very proud of these fine young people. Just compare their general demeanor and dress with the supporters of murder and rape and anti-Semitism! God Bless America!

As much as I support and am amused by the story of the UNC fraternity brothers, I must say that I am slightly creeped-out by the AI-generated image included in this post.  I don’t mind the joking reference to Iwo Jima.  But, why are they standing on the shoulders of soldiers who look like zombies wearing Ray-Bans? And why do three of the young men have their shirts knotted in a fashion that is usually associated with women?  As the proud mother of a current frat boy, I wish for a better portrayal.  At the end of the day, this art may be more insidious than the Google Gemini-generated images of the founding fathers.

These staged cringefests are so tiresome — almost as tiresome as the NormieCon adulation. They are staged precisely to appeal to this demographic for the purpose of conveying the impression that something is being done to “own the libs.” Meanwhile, the border remains wide open, children are being mutilated with gender-affirming care, and the fruits of Western Civilization are denigrated and destroyed.

    Carry on; everything is fine.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed the strangeness of the picture.  One of the zombies appears to be wearing a helmet on top of another helmet.  And another one in the lower right seems to have a shrimp for a nose.

You think they should have let the flag be burned etc?

We live in a country where burning the American flag is an expression of free speech but someone who takes down the rainbow flag goes to jail. Now that’s pride for you!

I did. However, the joy of the moment of seeing young Americans displaying their love, not their hatred, of their country overcame what I must, with all due respect, regard as purely cosmetic concerns in this time of raging anti-Semitism, assaults on the very basis of American liberty and freedom, the very foundations of Western Civilization itself. I do not at all mean to denigrate these comments but it just seems to me that with our very civilization under attack one might be excused for jumping at the least little ray of hope that comes along. As for referring to this art as “insidious” I’ll just have to plead naivete and confess I have no idea what that means or what it refers to, as I just saw a very inspiring tribute to some young Americans paying tribute to their National flag. Guess that makes me, as John Kerry might put it, terribly “simplisme”! I’ll just have to plead guilty to being an old  Cajun from down the bayou and let it go at that.

Facts don’t care about your feelings. At least, that’s what li’l Ben says. Meanwhile, all the rest goes on as usual. What are you gonna do about it besides cheering on some larping college students? They’ll go back to their beer bongs while you return the same politicians to the Imperial Capital to continue funding wars of choice and to suppress free speech with new hate speech legislation. Vote harder!
