Spot the Hamas Propagandist

This Xeet thread on X is pretty interesting:

It seems that there used to be a Hamas operative named Ismail al-Ghoul who had his internet identity scrubbed (accounts removed from  TikTok, X, Facebook, etc.) after October 7th, followed by the appearance of a new Ismail al-Ghoul, who looks the same and now works for Al Jazeera.  This “journalist” was involved in a skirmish with IDF forces as they cleared out the Shifa Hospital, where he was alleged to have been beaten and arrested by the IDF.  The outcry has been…utterly as expected, with no one questioning where this guy came from.  Enter the internet sleuths who found his old accounts and have exposed his transformation from Hamas propagandist to Al Jazeera journalist (and is still a Hamas propagandist).

It reminds me of the 2006 Lebanon conflict where graphic photos of “aid workers” pulling injured children from the rubble of Israeli strikes were a big part of the UPI coverage of the conflict.  The problem was that many of them were staged. It seems the same playbook is happening in Gaza…with the same results of the Western journalists falling for it.

It’s “funny” (“funny-strange, not funny-ha-ha”) that despite all of this “X” stuff, every time I follow one of these links/stories it still redirects to twitter.com

Right.  Everyone who tells the truth about what’s going on in Gaza is a Hamas Propagandist.  Everyone who tells the truth about what’s going on in Ukraine is a Russian Propagandist, or a Putin Stooge.

It is a convenient way for many people to ignore the unpleasant facts.

Did I say everyone?  No.  I pointed out a specific person who wiped their prior social media accounts to hide their prior relationship with Hamas and then created new social media accounts that portray them as an unbiased journalist.

Your attempt to strawman this argument is a failure.

My only complaints about the IDF’s actions in Gaza is that they are too careful and measured.  Hamas deserves zero sympathy.  They started this war, and they did so in the most evil and criminal manner.  And since the Gazans support Hamas by overwhelming margins, they don’t deserve sympathy either.  Normally, I’d reserve some for their children, but not much in this case, as they are in line behind the Israeli children pre-emptively tortured and killed by the Palestinians (not just Hamas/Hezbollah).  The Palestinians have continually brought this on themselves by buying the lies that the land “from the River to the Sea”, to coin a phrase, was taken from them.  It wasn’t.  They have no right to it, moral or otherwise.  They’ve had multiple opportunities to live well and prosper.  They’ve chosen death and destruction every single time.  They have shown themselves to be unable to do other than lie and destroy.  They must reap what they have sown, with extreme prejudice.

The power behind Hamas/Hezbollah and all the various Palestinian factions is evil.  It was no redeeming features.  An Axis of Evil (to quote another coinage) runs between Beijing and Tehran.  It was satellite spokes establishing(ed) in Moscow, Pretoria, and Pyongyang, among others.  Some of these allies are more natural than others.  It has smaller colonialist activities attempting a beach-head in various cities of Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and the US.   It has successfully infiltrated the security and foreign service branches of the US government, and the West’s leading legacy media companies and a number of large US companies.

We are in a long twilight struggle.  Gaza is just one battle in this long, existential war.
